Hi, I'm Dennis.I am a 34 year old male, and looking to expand my discussion of literature. I read 50/50 between Classical Literature and Contemporary Literature.
I plan to do quiet a bit more reading in the new year, and hopefully this community can aid in my determination to see my inspiration through.

Hi allJust realised I hadn't introduced myself on here yet....
I'm Joanne, 35 from Northumberland. Haved lots of interests including cycling, running, swimming, travel, horse riding and a love of the natural world...oh and a passion for reading lots of books! I'm also attempting to learn how to write books reviews, starting of small and simple and hopefully will build up to some decent, useful, comprehesive reviews.
I'm also in the final module of BSc Natural sciences with the Open Uni which will somewhat limit the amount of reading for pleasure that I will be doing this year....
Looking forward to getting to know you all a bit better!

Hi, I’m Lee! I’m in my 30s and originally from Hong Kong but grew up in the U.S. and currently live in sunny California. :-)I used to be an avid reader but unfortunately haven’t been able to read as much as I used to due to work and life obligations, so for 2017, I decided my New Year’s resolution would be to “renew my passion for reading.” I joined a few book clubs on Goodreads to help me with this goal and so far, have been enjoying getting back into books and reading consistently again.
In terms of genres, I like to read across the board rather than limit myself to anything specific. The only 2 genres that I tend to stay away from are sci-fi and horror, since neither of those are my cup of tea….other than that, I read pretty much anything that sounds interesting to me. I’m also a huge fan of Classics, which is one of the reasons why I chose this group to join. There are some Classics I haven’t read yet and others that I read in my school days but don’t remember much anymore, so would like to re-read. My all-time favorite classic novel is Pride and Prejudice, which I’ve re-read too many times to count (and intend to re-read again when I get the chance).
I haven’t had the chance to go through all the group threads yet, as I’m new to Goodreads and still trying to familiarize myself with everything. However, I’m already doing the A to Z challenge and hopefully I’ll be able to participate in some of the group readings/discussions as well.

I absolutely love this book- the photos are mesmorising - I have a geeky obsession with phosphorescent phytoplankton !

Hi, I’m Becky. I’ve been lurking on Goodreads for a while now but this is the first group I’ve joined. I like to read a range of different genres and am always interested to hear about what other people are reading. I’ve been in a local book group for quite a few years now and as well as having made some good friends, it has also made me read books that I wouldn’t normally have picked up. In some cases I would have been right to avoid them, but in some cases it has led me to books that I have really loved. I’m hoping to gain similar things from Book Vipers.

Hi there; just thought I would drop by to introduce myself as a new member. I live in Twickenham and work in Central London. I work as a graphic designer producing packaging for the cosmetics industry (well someone has to and puts food on the table!)
I am looking to expand my "reading horizons" as I am probably stuck in a bit of rut reading wise.
I tend to read detective thrillers (Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, Jo Nesbo etc) or the established classics (Middlemarch / Jane Eyre etc).
I am probably going to be taking reading suggestions from the Fiction and Classics sections. Just about to start The Crow Road and then 20,000 Leagues. Book I would certainly have not read if left to my own devices.
Hi PaulWelcome to the group. I'm sure your reading horizons will be thoroughly broadened with time. Especially if you're going to try out the monthly reads. I have definitely stepped out my reading comfort zone since joining these various groups on GR.

Hi Paul, welcome. Just like you I would tend to get stuck in a detective/mystery/thriller rut. I really like Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, Jo Nesbo, Peter Robinson, PD James, etc.
I started The Crow Road today and am enjoying it so far.
Paul, that's pretty much all I used to read. Now, thanks to my book club plus book vipers, I rarely read either unless it's in either book club/book viper suggestions.

I am not sure if I have ever posted an introduction in here or not. My name is Tammy, I usually go by Portia. I am a 46 year old female living in Los Angeles, CA. I am originally from West Virginia. I live on my own. No pets as of yet.I enjoy reading books and prefer a large genre to choose from. So I am not picky about the books that I read.
I was so happy when I discovered Goodreads and been a member ever since. Other than reading I love music and anything to do with archaeology.

Hi I am Evelyn and I live just outside London. I used to read a lot more than I do now, (I blame driving to work instead of taking the train and bad TV viewing habits for the decline). I am pleased to say the curve is back on an upward trend now. I like the idea of having some suggestions for reading material as my choices can be a bit haphazard. I hate not finishing a book but there have been too many that have been a case of stubbornness winning over actual enjoyment!

Great to have you here Evelyn. I drive an hour each way to work and use the library system to listen to audiobooks. There's a good choice of things and if I hate them I stop listening and try something else. It's free after all. I've listened to a few books that I wouldn't have otherwise. I have also carried on listening for a wee while to things that I think are okay but not great, to find the last half fabulous and I'm glad I've stuck with it. Great for free and to do in car on way to work.
Hello all! My name is Jess and I'm from a small town in Canada. I have enjoyed reading my whole life but tend to go through spurts of reading.I love to read different types of fiction so that I don't get bored with a specific genre. I tend to read books that have been out for a little bit. I'm not really on top of the newest books coming out. I am trying to find the time to read even just a little bit every day although that is not always possible.
I hope to be able to participate in the monthly fiction book reads during the months I have time. I also hope to find some new book suggestions here and who knows - maybe I'll be able to suggest a few to others :).
