Introductions
Hi guys. :) My name is Samuel. I'm an avid reader and have been looking for people to read books with. ^~^ Can't wait to start reading with you!
Thanks for the welcome all! Am currently thinking of titles to put in my Magic Square challenge (trying to work through some of my 'to read' list!) and will post something over on that thread soon. :)
Hi fellow bookworms,I am Debbie and live in Epping. Have a complete obsession with books, always have. Now busy raising a young family and hoping to regain my reading habits of old. It will be good to be part of a reading community and looking forward to the Magic Square challenge. I think it's a great one. :)
Hi everyone my name is Heather and I live in Maryland in the U.S. I love books and own over 500 of them.
There just seems to be to many good books to read so I just buy them but run out of time to catch up on them.

I was bored and counted them one day and totaled up the money u probably spent and nearly had a heart attack.
Welcome Cathy, Samuel, Debbie, Heather! You guys with young kids who still find time to read so much are a real inspiration to me. I'm sure your are to your kids as well. Way to go!

I have just done a brief count on the two book shelves in my bedroom and that was 250! Have now stopped counting...

Well, I meant the "welcome" for all of you who recently joined and the special congratulations for those who find time to read so much with children and jobs, etc. to attend to. Guess I should have separated the comments.

We have been very careful to encourage a love of books and reading from their babyhood and it seems to have paid off. Especially as they are getting older leaves me more time to actually read myself again. :)
Hello fellow readers!I found this group via your discussion on The Age of Innocence. I just finished reading it, and I was impressed by the discussion here. After doing some more poking around, I decided that this group looks like a good fit for me!
Hello all. I joined some time ago but never introduced myself, so I'm here now to rectify that.I'm Gaijinmama, from the U.S. but permanently living in Tokyo.
Two kids and a mortgage, I guess this is home now!
I teach English at a couple of Unis here. I've been a voracious reader my whole life and I always have one fiction and at least one nonfiction going at once. I try to read a few classics every year. Just finished The Once and Future King, which, if it isn't a classic it really should be! I'm taking an unrepentantly trashy paranormal break right now and am enjoying it immensely, but I plan to finally read Wuthering Heights later on.
Looking forward to getting to know you all! I love friend requests, so please add me if you like.
Welcome to the group Gaijinmama. Love the name! In a reverse situation to yours, one of my friends is Japanese, married to an English man, and they have two children, happily settled in UK.I've got Wuthering Heights on the tbr list for this year too. It's been long overdue for a read.
Have added you as a friend too.
Welcome Samuel, Debbie, Heather, Kelly-Louise and Gaijinmama! On the subject of young bookworms, mine are at the age (11 and 9) where they are reading some of my old favourites such as the Narnia books, Joan Aiken, Tolkien etc, and through them I'm discovering new authors too which is a great pleasure.
Gaijinmama, I've had The Once & Future King on my shelves for years, in a very large hardback edition, which is why I haven't got round to reading it yet. Really must do so...
Hello, my name is Hayley. I am an avid reader, though it is a little harder to read as much as I'd like during the school year. I go to college full time, so most of my reading during the school year is from textbooks, though I try to take at least one philosophy or literature class a year so I have something to look forward to. I fell in love with the classics when I was still in elementary school and they still dominate most of my reading lists. I look forward to getting to know more people who enjoy reading!
Les Miserables definitely takes the cake for me. Just about anything by Dickens and Thomas Hardy.
Welcome Hayley. I joined a few weeks ago and am thoroughly enjoying Book Vipers - hope you will too!
Hi, Hayley. Just wanted to say I totally agree with you about Les Miserables, Dickens and Hardy. Add Oscar Wilde and the Brontes to the list and we'd be twins!
