Welcome to the Book Vipers Helen and Chatterjak.
Helen - I'm not sure it gets better with time, my 8 year old frequently has other ideas!
Have to say Chatterjack I'm with you on that certain type of bodice-ripper.

I don't so much object to their existence (each to their own & all of that), it's just that they seem to be taking over the world!!
Ah me neither, just not a fan of that combined with bad writing, where it's sort of assumed that the reader will forgive it if you shove a few extraneous sex-scenes in there!
Hello everyone! I'm a nurse from NYC that loves to read. I'll read just about anything if it sounds interesting. I'm always on the lookout for a new book to read and hopefully this group will help find me some good ones :)
Hello everyone, my name is Carrie and I am currently living in Baton Rouge LA as a full time college student. Fun times, so I enjoy every ounce of pleasure reading I can get (it combats the textbook coma I frequently fall into). I'm looking forward to what you are reading next, since some of your past choices were big hits in my opinion. :)
Hi Carrie, welcome to the group. I'm sure you will find lots of books to keep you occupied here.
Hi, I've joined groups on GR over time, but haven't been up to being active before now. With this group I feel it will be interesting to contribute, and to read the discussions, with it (unusually) having one classic, one non-fiction and one lighter novel to read each month; when I spotted that the upcoming classic is one I happen to own (but not yet read) - well, surely destiny is calling me?! I have also reserved the non-fiction one through the library, and am looking forward to joining in with the discussions.
Julia here, retired high school English teacher in Michigan. I've already been enjoying some of the threads and want to thank you for a busy, interesting group :-)
Hello all, and thanks again--as Paul says, I've spent some time here today and really enjoy your interaction. Nice to feel welcomed :-)
Julia has left. I will miss her informed posts; a knowledgeable person. A bit sad really when things don't work out. :(
She said she wanted to spend more time in the real world and was finding keeping up with the reading in various groups hard.I think these are problems we can all relate to! I find I'm constantly readjusting, but hate to give up on anything; it's just a case of selecting and juggling, as most of life seems to be. I don't think I could spend quite as much time/effort/research on each post as she did though.
There could have been other problems, but that would be for her to say, I think.
Hey, Elizabeth. I thought you were taking a break!!! Get out into that beautiful Cornish weather!
Ah - not quite so beautiful then. It's a bit blustery here too now. Hope your clouds soon blow themselves out.
Hello James, welcome to the group and I look forward to discussing books, poetry and whatever else with you.
