My original choice was a DNF for me - so ended up reading a wonderful YA Historical:

The Forgotten Pearl by Belinda Murrell

was doubly suited for a February read because it is set in Darwin (where I live) around the bombing of Darwin - 19th February 1942

I have both Web of Deceit by Katherine Howell $15.88 Big W, and Bay of Fires by Poppy Gee $18.88 Big W, here to read Mish (I got them both from my library!) Was so tempted, but resisted;)

I'm doing a swap between my May and September male author choices. Swapping Jasper Jones( May) with Jessica ( September), so I can fit it into my Autumn Challenge as well. Two birds so to speak.

I had to make a change to my February read - I couldn't get hold of my original choice - Get Well Soon! My (un)Brilliant Career As A Nurse by Kristy Chambers - too much demand at my library!

So instead I read:

At Home With the Templetons by Monica McInerney 3 stars
and

A Darker Music: A Novel by Maris Morton 3 stars

Am looking forward to my March choice - Amber Road by Boyd Anderson - and it's already checked out from the library...

I'll let you know what I think about Amber Road, Brenda. I was initially considering your March read - Web of Deceit - for this month, but then realised it was part of a series and I hadn't read the earlier ones. I'm a little picky with series - I like to read them in order... Maybe I should put the first ones on my TBR list because I think they sound interesting.

Yes, it is a series Kathryn, about Detective Ella Marconi. It develops her character, but with a completely different story each time. I guess you do need to follow it from #1 through though, as Ella's character, and her connections (partners, loves, interaction with parents) continues through each book...You COULD read it as stand alone, but if you've not read any, I would recommend starting with Frantic as I think you'd enjoy it more:)

Frantic's added! And yes, I know most series can be read as stand alone stories, but I'm OCD enough that I just like to read from beginning to end! And I agree that it enhances enjoyment to follow the development of the characters and the storyline to read from the beginning of series. Hope you enjoy book number 6!

Holy cow what a fantastic novel. I'm sure many of you have already read it, but wow! If you haven't, I highly recommend it!! Now on to my Male Author and my New Release :)
