Aliyah | 369 comments small sized book (about 100-200 pages), deserves to be binned if first two chapters or first 30 pages are boring.

medium sized book (about 300-500 pages), deserves to be binned if not compelling by reading the first 5 chapters or first 50 pages.

massive sized books (over 500 pages, some even close to 1000 pages or more)
haven't read a book so far that was 1000 pages, however I've read sine books that were over 500 pages. If the first 100 pages and/or first 10 chapters are boring- it should be binned.

books however become hard to bin if one is loyal to a particular author.

Marc Horn (marchorn) Aliyah, I'd go along with that. I think you're giving the author a fair chance to engage.
