i read this book, i found it light, funny, quick read and overall "fine"

i was actually enjoying it until that part of "women's work" came up, here's when my blood started to rush into my head and boil :@

the writer practically said that the woman who works is not fit to be a good wife! how retarded is that?!! he says the "poor, hardworking" husband needs to come home to a "trophy doll" waiting for him to pleasure his needs! OMG what about HER needs?? women do not JUST work to provide for themselves, can you possibly question a man's decision to work???? why then question a woman's?

and in the set of reasons that he provided for why a woman might need to work, he forgot one very important thing,, what if "the good respectful very deserving" husband just died? or decided to divorce her? or throw her out of her home? or simply she wanted to leave him, how is she supposed to live by? or may be that's when it's okay for her to work! (as if when she finally decides to work with no previous experience and at elderly age, and in Egypt, work would magically appear!!)

no "person" can depend totally on another person, especially financially, everyone needs to work, needs independance, needs to make their own decisions and not make them to "please" someone else.

the whole thing was very old fashioned and ridicolous to me, changed my view of the writer completely. i was very disappointed

He does actually say that one of the reasons for women to work is if she's widowed or divorced, I can't remember the number of the point. He says that if a woman can keep up with work and the household without being too immersed in work then it's okay. The problem with Hend is that she becomes too immersed in work that she no longer attends to her roles in the household.

I faced the same problem with that part and many that follows. What's the problem of caring about ur work or being so indulged in it for few days or even weeks? Don't men sometimes do that? or it is because women are thought of as the "nice part" should always be so nice, beautiful and gentle. Its retarded as u said!!

i like that part very much ..it's a fact actullay .. we find our self in a position where we have to fight for every right the right to live ,the right to work,even the right to laugh , it is just not fair
we don't work just to fuilfull ourselve as he say we work caus it's the only way to say ' heeey we do exist we we can do better than you' they are just too stupid to understand that
