Yes, and yes it is.
Yes, and yes it is.

And I guess that I should message the other librarian and tell her about the cover/alternate edition policy?

The change logs indicate that the changes took place last Saturday so they are pretty new.
I know that it is wrong to replace covers, however, in defense of the librarian who did it (and I think that I once started a topic asking about this issue but I can't find it anymore and I think I never got an answer): The newly uploaded covers are the ones for the older editions that were actually printed in 1994. The ones that got deleted were the newer ones of the reprints that are from around 2002 or something. So theoretically, the entries were corrected.
So now I'm totally at a loss. Can someone please tell me what to do in this case? Should the changes be reverted (is that even possible with covers), the date set to the newer date and an alternate edition be created for the older cover edition? Or should an alternate edition be created for the covers that got deleted and leave the changed entries be? (Anyways, it's really time to either allow multiple covers per ISBN to choose from or allow multiple editions to have the same ISBN. All this cover chaos is a nuisance.)
Here are the links to the books that were on my shelves and got changed:
