Yes... There are 2 trilogies to The Mortal Instruments. Trilogy one is the end of Valentine, while the second trilogy, the villain is Sebastian, Valentine's evil son.You can stop at City of Glass, but there are several things needed explanation in City of Glass.
I will go on reading the shadowhunter story.
We have The Dark Artifices after The Mortal Instruments. We also have The Infernal Devices as the Prequel to The Mortal Instruments.

I'm currently reading City of Glass. I see that it's shown that Mortal Instruments are a series, 1-6 (6 to be released in 2013) but the synopsis of City of Glass describes it as the end of the Trilogy. Is Mortal Instruments actually 2 trilogies?
