How many admit to being old enough to remember that (she said, trying distraction tactics!)

Well, that didn't work.

Her raisin d'être?

message 11: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Nah, didn't did it. I don't have a handbag GL. I have large patchwork shopping style bags. Handbags smack of fashion which I so do not do.

I pictured you as being a slightly nicer version of Margaret Thatcher.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Can't picture our Ignite in pearls.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments It is on a chain round her neck (a bit like the chain people dangle specs from)
This is so it is easily and quickly accessible for when she needs to type reviews or send reminder e-mails to Simon or prodding emails to get authors to hurry up and write more books.
It also has the added advantage of being a good place to store chicken feed, eggs collected, flowers for wreaths and displays, and something to eat her tea off (always being careful not to spill anything of course)

Jonathan Hill | 1599 comments Hidden in the hall behind a picture (one of those fake pictures, which actually conceals a panel of hooks to hold keys). You don't want thieves getting hold of any keys.

Katy | 2662 comments Super-glued to her fingers, judging from the amount of work she's had to do for the two group books!

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Q slowly walked across the lab, twisting a plain biro between his fingers. The agent was late. He'd not had this much bother before, even with Bond. He turned, as with a light swish the air-sealed lab door slid open. "Ah there you are 008. What kept you? Some bother with the chickens again? Hmm.
"Anyway, this is - no, don't touch that! - this is something interesting we've been working on. M wants you to test it in the field.
"The small pouch there, open it up, press that button. Yes, it's a full size keyboard. Proper typing capability, anti misspell device, nuclear tracking. 4g of course. And disguising it as a Kindle, dashed clever though I say so myself!"

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments And with a built in fox/chicken proximity alarm?

message 25: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I think there's an Amazon helpline person walking very gingerly after she shoved it where the sun don't shine...

message 26: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments In her kitchen! On a desk near a much loved and used Aga range where also rests a young chicken in need of heat.
Beans of all shapes and colours adorn the huge table which has nurtured and nourished a family who though now absent in person have left the marks of childhood for her to see and feel in her heart.
A freshly crafted christmas wreath adorns the door reminding all who enter of festive seasons past and to come as our protagonist practices her Ti Chi in an attempt to relax her body as her mind cogitates the book she has just read, the reviews to compose and blog entry to consider.
Chopin sounds out in an attempt to bring tranquility to the scene which to all but Ignite would indicate chaos but to our very own Superwomen denotes nought but a life well lived and loved by all!

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Oh, you brilliant people - what a laugh! You have wonderful imaginations - all of you, not just the authors.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Shot myself in the foot here.

Gonna be really hard to choose the most inventive!

Think ill make Simon choose. :)

Well, she's always bustling around, so that makes sense

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Actually, I think she keeps it in a handy pocket of an alternative universe. Any time she needs it she just reaches in and grabs it. Also useful for storing gardening tools and scientific equipment.

And a few sparkly rocks

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Oh yes! You can never have enough sparkly rocks.

message 37: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I like dull ones too. Bit of an Eeyore like that!

message 38: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Perhaps she has a box to keep it in, like the one in K'Barthan 2, which only she can open.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Adam wrote: "Under the cat."

Isn't that the standard place for a keyboard in any house with a cat in it? Mine used to spend his entire time trying to inveigle himself onto my lap, usually by standing on the computer keyboard and kneeding it until I gave in. There's a lot of people out there who think I can type Norwegian... little do they know.

Cheers

MTM

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments And that's all folks!

Will let you know the winner tomorrow.

Thanks for playing!

message 41: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Clue - I don't have a cat.
Another clue - if it were under a chicken, it'd be pooier than it is!

message 42: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments You keep your non-cat under a chicken???

message 43: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Hill | 1599 comments I know it's too late for the comp but here's my second guess containing a subliminal message so I win.

i suPpose Ignite stores it in a Cupboard in her Kitchen - aM i corrEct?

message 44: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Nice try Buster! ;)
I don't know who's picking the winner. Patti's probably in bed now - we'll find out in the morning no doubt.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments This is the oddest competition i have ever seen

message 46: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments You need to get out more, then.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Probably.

message 48: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I do have budgies too. Everything near their cage is covered in pink powder, they are addicted to eating their iodine peck!

I wonder who won?

message 49: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments I'm guessing that with Patti going to a colleague's funeral, she's going to be having a fairly draining day... might be tomorrow, I think.

Cheers
