Hello I am new to the group, I have a desire to become a serious reviewer I have had some books gifted for review by authors and I love to read any genre. Prefer fiction to non fiction.
This is my first group I have joined on Goodreads, I have searched for one that would suit me it has taken me a long time but I think I have found it here :)

I was looking for an introduce yourself thread too. I don't want to post on the 'what do you like to read/review' topic as I don't want to advertise for reviews. I don't review everything in my favourite genres, I review only if I like the sound of the plot. I prefer to look at threads where authors ask for reviews and if I like the plot, I contact them.

I just wanted to introduce myself to the group,
I am Elle Davis, Wound & Ostomy Nurse by day, and budding author by night. I just published my first y/a romance/fantasy novel, "Designed for Perfection" and am currently working on the 2nd book in the series. It's about a group of genetically engineered humans with extraordinary traits, trying to live in modern society. What makes my novel unique is that the concepts of DNA modification are introduced into my characters in a fairly realistic manner (no wings or fins)and the struggles that the characters go through represent what I believe might be the case if genetic engineering of human DNA is ever legalized. Read it and see if you agree.
I am giving away 20 paperback copies in GR giveaway which ends on 11/22/13. The book can also be purchased on e-kindle. The links are posted below.
Good luck to my fellow authors. I have worked in some of the most challenging areas of nursing (Post open heart ICU, ER) and I find writing just as challenging.

I'm Emily and you can find me at my new (work still in progress) blog http://followtheyellowbookrd.blogspot...

Good luck with Law school it can be a grind. But you are almost there!

I've been with this group for a while but haven't officially introduced myself. I used to be a librarian but had a career change about a year ago. Right now, I work at a stable with therapy horses. Most of what I do there is groom the horses and donkeys.
I have been frustrated in this group because I have had trouble finding my niche. I like to read books more on the gentle side. I don't like a lot of sex, violence or bad language. I don't mind if the content of a book has some of those elements as long as it is not heavily saturated in them. Genres I have been reading the most lately are Japanese Literature, Fantasy, Steampunk and short novels of all kinds. I like romances if they are not the "formula" kind.
If anyone can suggest books for me to read and review that would be great. You can PM me if you want. I would like to read books on my Kindle Paperwhite.
My name is Jennifer and I love to read. You can find me at www.genuinejenn.com I love all kinds of books from YA to Self Help. I look forward to reading and reviewing your books and meeting everyone in this group!
