I do have a sense of humor!! Growing up my parents used to think I didn't! At work they call me the "fun police", but I'm a manager, so I kind of have to be.
Loved:

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) Seems to be moving a 'tad' (pun, yes, I know) slow for me. I'm almost halfway through and nothing really seems to be happening yet. the relationship between Tad and Vera is awkward and makes me a 'tad' (I know, stop it!) uncomfortable.

It's more an emotionally driven book than an action novel and it's more about the romance and the characters struggles.

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) Yes, I'm not one for the character-driven novels, to be honest. I prefer plot-driven.

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Martha wrote: "I AM DONE!
I knew it!
AHhhh!!!"

Super creepy, right??? Lol
I'm trying to add little descriptions of character looks in a away that's more showing than telling. I think I've got it on the one I'm working on now.

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Martha wrote: "That and gross!
I don't want to spoil it so I'll say nothing for now but please let me know when you guys are done :D"

Yeah, it was a pretty epic scene to write. I discovered something about my writing--I have no fear of killing people off. Even when I was little I did it! I found a book I wrote in second grade and two pages in I had killed the MC's horse...weird, I know.

The words just... got to me!

In fact, you should add the quote to the list of your quotes!! It's super! :)

I added that in about a week before it was published! It's a lot of people's favorites...mhmm...I thought that was under my quotes!
Of course I want to know about the whole book lol

Double checked--it's there :D

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Awww...I'm totally blushing!
So, what is everyone's top number one quote from the book?

Julie | 123 comments "I am threatened by the resolve that you are my soul" ... of course the tat! I'm a hopeless romantic lol

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Julie wrote: ""I am threatened by the resolve that you are my soul" ... of course the tat! I'm a hopeless romantic lol"
I'm guessing that is Martha's too! Funny the whole book was written around "seconds feel like a lifetime"
I have some very pretty (in my mind) necklaces on my website that have quotes in them. I'll have to add some with that in it! I don't know why I didn't think of that before!

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Another Deleted Scene is up on my website! ;) Just in case you guys want to take a peek!

Nagwa Kureshi (NagwaKureshi) | 43 comments Cassandra wrote: "Another Deleted Scene is up on my website! ;) Just in case you guys want to take a peek!"

Will check it soon! Enjoyed the first one but totally agree with your rationale of deleting it :)

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Well, I'm not quite sure...there will be at least 4 posted by the end of the month. I tracked all my progress editing on here via reading updates, but I think I deleted/completely overhauled around ten scenes.

Julie | 123 comments Ohhh, I'll have to check them out later today :)

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments This one today is a before and after overhauled scene :)

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Who were the suspects as you read the book? And how did you narrow done who it was and wasn't?

Julie | 123 comments Martha wrote: "So is everyone done?
I'd like to discuss! :D"

Me too!

Nagwa Kureshi (NagwaKureshi) | 43 comments Cassandra wrote: "Who were the suspects as you read the book? And how did you narrow done who it was and wasn't?"

I always felt weird about Jennings... maybe it was some kinda anger at trying to make eyes at Tad (when obviously he was taken). The feeling got a little more intense when she's talking to Brad about his GF's death as though its a small thing. I mean from the way the conversation goes, its pretty obvious to the reader that Jenning's thinks all this is pretty insignificant. All the while I had a hunch that Jennings was a part of this madness...but did not have any idea that she did it herself!

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments When I was writing it I always knew it would be someone at the school, but I didn't really know who the red head was until I was about half way done. It would have been super creepy if it had been Tad!

Julie | 123 comments lol yes Tad being the killer would have been devastating! I loved the red-head twist though... threw me off for awhile!

Julie | 123 comments I figured it was a wig but wasn't sure who was wearing it! Vera's convo with Lily while she was shopping confused me even more lol first Lily said her name was Faye then Naria like the charachters in the Crimson books. Once I started suspecting the evil Jennings of being the killer I remembered Lily telling Vera this Faye/Naria chic was older than them... even with all that I still couldn't pinpoint Jennings as the killer.

Nagwa Kureshi (NagwaKureshi) | 43 comments Julie wrote: "I figured it was a wig but wasn't sure who was wearing it! Vera's convo with Lily while she was shopping confused me even more lol first Lily said her name was Faye then Naria like the charachters ..."

Precisely! that was a neat little trick by the author! ;)

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Aww, yes the little mermaid wig. Now that was fun. Did you find Jaz annoying?

Nagwa Kureshi (NagwaKureshi) | 43 comments Cassandra wrote: "Aww, yes the little mermaid wig. Now that was fun. Did you find Jaz annoying?"

Not annoying per se. She's extremely outgoing so it was a nice contrast to Vera's closed, guarded nature. That said, she could get a little meddlesome with all the Tad-ilicious comments of hers! (given how Vera felt about him) :P

Julie | 123 comments Yea she had no idea and didn't put it together till the end. Plus, a typical high school teen... I'm sure if we had a hot English teacher back when, we would have lively chats about him too...

Julie | 123 comments I liked the dance scene... When Jaz orchestrated the student/teacher dance... that was nice.

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Martha wrote: "I agree.
One thing I don't understand is how do you not ask how old the other is?"

Mhmm...I never really thought about it. I just figured you kind of know by looking at someone, so you don't really ask. Even so, I don't think it would really have changed the situation. At 17, one can still be in college, so Tad would have probably still assumed she meant the University.

This actually came form a real life situation. My freshmen year of high school the girls fawned over my honors English teacher. The funny part: he wasn't even a young teacher, maybe in his thirties--he even had silver hair! It was just so interesting to see high school girls go ga-ga over the guy.

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments How did everyone like the ending? Should it have ended sooner?

message 95: by Dale (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) It's typical for teens to ogle the hot teacher, girls and guys alike. We had one of *those*, a music teacher. And he was such a nice guy.

I don't think it ended too late or soon. I don't think "who it was" will be a mystery to most readers, but the ending had a nice pace.

message 96: by Cassandra (last edited Dec 19, 2012 08:38AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Interestingly enough, I didn't know who the red head was until after Mike was killed. That's when I decided who it would be.

Cassandra Giovanni | 119 comments Martha wrote: "Funny thing I had an English teacher in his late twenties who was a bit of a Tad. Not as handsome as Tad is described but pretty cute that all the girls swooned over.

The reason I ask is that there were two endings and the épilogue was added early September!
Mhmm...English teachers!
Oh PS I'm posting the alternate ending on my blog tonight ;)

I was not as lucky! We didn't have much eye candy lol

Julie | 123 comments I thought the ending of the book worked really well. As Martha has stated some books do feel rushed... you get the "what just happened" and the "I feel cheated" feelings lol if that makes any sense. The creepy factor totally went up as well at the end for me atleast, that's when Jennings crazy really came out.

Headed over to read the alt ending :)

The whole kill scene may have been a bit over the top but I wanted to show how nuts she was and how brain washed Lily ended up being. I thought about the trial and I just couldn't put Abbi through that. I thought the solution was pretty good anyways.
I also didn't want it to appear to be easy, like oh the killers caught its all over because that wasn't realistic to me. Abbi needed to deal with it for the book to really end.
I kind of envy her strength... I don't think I'd be that strong if I lost my parents, but then she kind of has to be.
