Bill | 192 comments The Rolling Stones mark their 50th anniversary this year by performing a few US shows in Brooklyn, NY & Newark, NJ. I've been a fan for almost that long, so this book is up next for me. Life by Keith Richards

I'm reading Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. Yesterday it was announced that Relin had committed suicide and it appears to be a connection to critism of the accuracy of the book. I had alrady started, and knowing that it may not be true (it would be okay if it was fiction) it making this a book harder to read.

I am also listening to Women in Love by D.H. Lawrence. I finished up listening to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer on Friday, and having a harder time getting into this book.

Joe Kapraszewski (Moose6619) | 24 comments More on the hockey trend (yes, the lockout's really affecting me)... Hockey Night in Dixie Minor Pro Hockey in the American South by Jon C. Stott has started out to be an interesting look into Canada's favourite winter sport in an area that most of us wouldn't think it would work out.

Just picked up two books from the Library: Cloud Atlas and Bowl of Heaven. I only ordered Bowl of Heaven because I was so far down the wait list for Cloud Atlas. I hope I can finish both books in the three weeks I have with all that is going on over the holidays.

D'oh that was suposed to be the cover image.

I'll be interested to see what you think of "Bowl of Heaven". I entered the Giveaway, and didn't win. Not sure I want to read it badly enough, though I've read some of Niven's other work and liked it.

I'm reading The Curious Incident fo the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. It is about a kid with Aspergers (sp). Interesting to see how a genius mind with autism thinks. It is a bit awkward, but so is Christopher.

Joe Kapraszewski (Moose6619) | 24 comments I've been to the Pawn Stars shop, I went the last time I was in Vegas, so I decided to get off the hockey theme for now... License to Pawn Deals, Steals, and My Life at the Gold & Silver by Rick Harrison is what I am currently on. Funny how Old Man has been Old Man since his 30's...

I finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It was a good but slightly awkward read. I appreciate those working with special needs kids even more. I'm back to reading Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. I'm going to speed read this one since there is a lot of controversy about the accuracy of it.

Bill | 192 comments Arthur & George by Julian Barnes has been on my bookshelf for quite some time. It's historical fiction about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (author of Sherlock Holmes) who is contacted by a boyhood friend in need of some detective work. Based on a true incident.

Jocelyn | 30 comments I've started Cloud Atlas Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell now that I've finally finished the Dance with Dragons.

Gave up on Cloud Atlas and will start reading Bowl of Heaven by Gregory Benford tomorrow. Still trying to figure out how Benford got better name placement over Niven.

Joe Kapraszewski (Moose6619) | 24 comments Finished License to Pawn Deals, Steals, and My Life at the Gold & Silver by Rick Harrison ... will say this. If you're a fan of the show, get the book. Very interesteing... and not just about the shop. I won't give it away. Now on the docket... How to Rig the NCAA Basketball Championship for Fun and Profit by James Wolfe . The name alone hooked me in.

Joe Kapraszewski (Moose6619) | 24 comments The last book was such a quick and interesting read, but I'm not as impressed as with other books I've been reading. I'm going to start up Barbarians at the Gate The Fall of RJR Nabisco by Bryan Burrough . Hopefully this will take a while to read. :)

I finally finished Three Cups of Tea One Man's Mission to Promote Peace ... One School at a Time by Greg Mortenson and had a hard time because of the criticism of the book. I will say it does seem to be plausible. I also got a few thoughts to ponder about the Middle East.

I'm going to read something light now. Knit Two by Kate Jacobs

Knit Two and Knit the Season were good books about female friendship. It might have been a good thing that I did read them, because I reached out to a couple of girlfriends this week going through a breakup. I really had never reached out like that and each offered me a different support.

Now reading Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich and Bridesmaid Lotto by Rachael Astor, both are quick light reads.

Notorious Nineteen was a fun read for those that have enjoyed the Stephanie Plum series.

I'm 44 pages into The Tender Bar: A Memoir by J. R. Moehringer. It is a selection for World Book Night and if I'm selected this year I'm debating between this and Moneyball as my selection.
