The HelpOption A: 522 pages of wonderful reading. Humorous, sad, fantastic, wise. The Help tells the story of what it was like to be a maid in the 60's and in Mississippi. This is a must read about a subject that should never be forgotten. If you watched the movie, it does not do this book justice. Go check it out tomorrow! Now working on option B!
JazzOption B: I read Jazz by Toni Morrison. A book about love, murder, jealousy, and reconnection. 129 pages
550 pages I enjoyed the storyline of this book, but had it not been for the encouragement of Suzanne would have cast it aside. I found the format of this book incredibly irritating. I. Disliked the way Death interjects his personal notes into the story; I even found the font of type to be annoying. 
266 pages little Bee was the book I read for the second part of this challenge. The story of two women who form a unlikely bond after a horrific event on a Nigerian beach.

I see that The Book Thiefworks for option A, but I'm not sure about which option you used for Little Bee.
B solid cover .. The lettering of the title is actually the background; the black is the contrast color. But I can just as easily use To The Nines for this challenge only my copy is Orange!

Either way ... what did you think of "To the Nines"? Maybe you can find another task to move one of these titles to and earn some more tickets!
Loved To the Nines! the opening chapter is lol funny! I am a huge fan of Stephanie Plum and Janet Evanovich books. I thought I had read all of them, but must have missed this one. I will check to see if I could move one of these to another task.

V is for Vengeance by Sue Grafton. Always a good easy read. Kinsey Milhone is up to her usual Private Detective adventures which keep the pages turning. The book cover was a cheerful tomato red with lettering in white with a striking golden "V" thus qualifying it for item b. above. 416 pages.
Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper is a must read. It told from the perspective of an extremely intelligent (photographic memory) 11 year girl with cerebral palsy. Due to her CP, she cannot speak, therefore no one knows how incredibly intelligent she is. She is severely physically disabled, in a wheelchair and cannot even sit up without support so the perception of her abilities are completely misinterpreted. Like any other 11 year old she wants to be part of the crowd and she has some but not total success with this. I have a niece in New Zealand who has CP and is similarly disabled. She cannot speak either and I just wonder what is going on inside her head. The initials of the author's name, Sharon Draper, can be found in the word SoliDly as per item E above. 304 pages

Choose two different options.
A. Books can be very solid items. Read a big book--at least 500 pages. (Remember your extra tickets for page count)
B. Read a book with a solid color cover. The only exception is the lettering for author and title.
C. Read a book with a title/subtitle that contains the word "solid" or one of these synonyms: cubic, dense, cohesive, firm, sound, unbroken, solvent, strong. You may use plurals, possessives and forms of the words created by adding -ly, -ness,or -al (in the case of cubic), but no compound words.
D. The subject matter of books can be pretty solid. Read a classic from Harold Bloom's list of best books .
If an individual title is not listed ("selected stories", "complete works", "plays", etc) you may choose any work by that author within that category that meets general challenge rules.
E. Read a book by an author whose initials are in the word "SOLIDLY". If an author goes by three or more names and/or initials all the initials must fit. Hyphenated names count as one word. The letters can be in any order.
