I saw this at the store the other day. I think I should add it to my ever growing TBR pile. The Weird Sisters that is. Criminal Minds scares me enough that I can't read true crime also. =P

I too dislike criminal minds and my father who has been in law enforcement for 35 years refuses to watch criminal minds. They just take it too fat sometimes

Once I finish one of these, I'm going to read Madame Bovary.

With that, I completes my GoodReads goal of 30 titles in 2012.
Now, ..."
I just finished, Of Mice and Men, and started reading Jack London's the Sea Wolf.

Oh I mean I do watch Criminal Minds. It actually has gotten a lot less scary. It seems after they had Tim Curry guest star, it calmed down.
I am reading Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter. It's on Boxall's 1001 Books to Read Before You Die list.

IM also reading The Two Krishnas by Ghalib Shiraz Dhalla. Absolutely beautiful, only a third of the way through but I can safely say it's a 5 star novel. Poetic and intricate. I love it. Later this week I'll also begin The Host by Stephenie Meyer.

I also have Anna Karenina on the go. I'm trying to make the most of my uni break to really catch up on some reading. Fortunately, I'm studying to become a high school English teacher!!

well the only adult show I watch is Big Bang Theory. some football and basketball. Mostly the tv airs Mickey mouse clubhouse, Little Einsteins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates or just about anything on Disney Jr.I actually watched Criminal Minds quite a bit until I had kids then everything changed. I also have read or watched way too much on ted bundy, manson, jack the ripper probably a few others as well.

Haha. Yeah, I know a lot of the Disney Jr stuff along with the programming on PBS thanks to my 4 year old. Just please, no Caillou.

I'm reading The Historian. It has a draggy beginning but once you get used to Elizabeth's prose, you will find yourself loving the story.

I started it, but got really lost in the beginning. I may pick it up again.
^The unceremonious shifting of POVs is quite confusing and I was also lost at some points. But after Part I, the story will be more interesting and continuous. :)

Karena, sorry for posting this question here, but I noticed you read The Sound and The Fury and wanted to know what you thought about the book from Faulkner.

Now I'm pleased as punch to be reading Palimpsest.

We read Dorian for the book club a few months ago. Let us know what you think. :)

I finished this one not long ago. Not my favorites if hers. Have you read The Forgotten Garden?

I didn't care for Gatsby either, honestly. I also wanted to rush through it, just was not super impressed. I'll give it another go here in a while, it deserves at least that.

Its quite long & clunky, feels like I'm reading a Bible. I'm gonna slog though it :-/. Didn't read The Forgotten Garden yet.

Yep, I just don't get whats so great about Gatsby. I hated the characters, especially Tom & Daisy. Thought that Nick was the only level-headed guy, but was too underdeveloped for my liking. Did you see the preview/ trailer for the film version? The actors are SO WRONG. WHY HOLLYHOOD WHY?!

EXACTLY! I couldn't care less reading about the characters while reading The Great Gatsby, though I liked Fitzgerald's prose and the themes he touches. Still, it is a realistc portrait of a generation, and I respect that.

He, hi.. i have Ulysses next on my list to read.. if you have come across the text analyzer and would share it it would be great!

I read that one this year, and loved it! I can't believe I ever let anyone tell me it was boring.

Classic. Love it. =)
I usually keep a few books of different types going at once, so right now, I'm reading Tocqueville's Democracy in America, Huxley's Crome Yellow, and The Works of Martin Luther. Nonfiction, fiction, and theology. Something for any mood. =)
I'm looking forward to starting Age of Innocence and Game of Thrones in January.

I saw the trailer. Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby...no. Looks decadent though. Will wait for library to get it. Hahaha Or watch an older version. Im not in a mood to watch movies though.
