Nadia (nadthepod) | 20 comments Sorry Blacklands would be my choice for holiday read.
Icarus by Russell Andrews would be my other for general reads. I read both of these a long time ago and would love to read them again.

Jannene | 775 comments A lot of people are picking books in a series; The Affair and Shakespeare's Christmas Can they be read without reading the other books? Also, we read Agatha Christie last December/January read. I'm not sure if it qualifies or not.

Jan C (woeisme) | 39173 comments I've read Shakespeare's Christmas and O'm not certain that you need to read earlier books in the series although it does help understand the situation and the various characters.

When I read this series i read them out of order and was a trifle confused about a character or two who had been introduced in the previous book.

Wajiha (wajihasaid) | 1 comments I would like to nominate Beirut by Alexander McNabb in the holiday category.
Beirut - An Explosive Thriller by Alexander McNabb
This is the second offering in the genre by the author who himself has been living in the Middle East for over 20 years. A fast moving plot with flawed, human characters is what made his first book Olives: A Violent Romance a very good read, this should be better.

Available on Amazon US & UK stores and kindle
