Hi, everyone! Since this is such a community of voracious readers, I though I'd offer an invitation to those of you who have book//reading//writing blogs!
My website, Unearthing Words, is hosting a blog event called: "A Christmas Tale" from December 1st-25th. Here is a brief description of the rules: -----------------------------
1. You must choose two Christmas stories (novellas or novels), read them, and post a review for each of them on your blog at some point between December 1 and 25th! NO EROTICA, please!
2. In addition to the two book reviews you post, you must post 3 entries to your blog during the event that involve Christmas reading traditions! If you have an advent calendar themed with books or something similar, post it! If you have a tradition of giving books to your family or friends every year, post about it! If you love to sit around the fire and read “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” each year, tell us about it! Christmastime is not often thought of as a reading-centric time, but it is for SOME families! If you can’t come up with 3 blog posts with reading traditions you already have, talk about new ones you’d like to start!
3. You must announce the event on your blog and invite your readers to join in on the fun! It would be ideal that you do this sooner, rather than later. Feel free to grab the image and link from my site to point your readers to this post in order to get them all signed up! As well, if you’d like to copy the sign up list (which will be refreshed in this post), feel free to do so.
4. To sign up, go to this website link: http://lmsherwin.com/a-christmas-tale...! Please try to pick stories that haven’t already been picked by someone else. There are a bazillion Christmas stories out there!
5. Other Tidbits: This is an event intended to bring bloggers together for merriment and cheer! Please keep all of your posts reader friendly and make sure your heart is in the spirit of the season! I can’t wait to read all the reviews and reading traditions!
-------------- I know many of you have your own websites and blogs that are dedicated to spreading the love of reading! I'd love to have a few more people join our list! Moderators: I apologize in advance if I put this thread in the wrong place. I figured since it is promoting holiday reading, it could fit in here. :-)
