How fast does Amazon.com report your sell?

My friend texted me a few days ago that 2 printed copies of my book that she ordered from Amazon.com just arrived. I checked the BookScan Weekly Sales in authorcentral.amazon.com/gp/metrics but it showed 0 copies were sold in the last 3 weeks. Do you have the same problem? Have you published your book with CreateSpace? They are an Amazon company and when I make a sale of a print copy, I see it reflected within a couple of hours.

Thanks, Big J! I'm quite new about this SP/Indie biz. I pulled the novel from CreateSpace for re-editing and uploaded it two weeks ago. I guess it messes things up for them, e.g., Amazon still have my old version! I don't expect them to be that slow. btw, you have the link to your novel? I would love to check it out :)

Nick - no worries. I've submitted my books to CreateSpace, found errors, corrected the errors, resubmitted and then several weeks later find more errors.

Seriously, it's a never ending battle. Oh, well. :)

I don't often check BookScan for my paperback sales - I just log into CreateSpace and it shows you on your Member Dashboard if you've made sales that month. If the book sold through Amazon it should show up that day, but if the book was sold elsewhere it can take several weeks for the sales to come up :)

I have experienced something similar with Kindle sales.

Kevin, I find that on average it takes about four hours from the time I notice that my ranking has risen till the sale shows up on the report, but it can take much longer.

I think that is the ultimate question. I cheated and bought a copy of my own book and it took several hours even after the "thank you for your purchase."

Some seem to show up quickly some more slowly...

Some of mine show up within moments (I have clients that buy copies) and others take forever. As far as I can tell there's no rhyme nor reason to how fast it'll appear.
