Thanks, I liked The historian a lot. Have you read
[book:Labyrinth or Sepulchre? Both by Kate Mosse, loved them.especially how she did with the time difference of like 200 years in both stories.

To Dance with Kings is based around 3 generations of women and their quest of true love, but it some what centers on the construction and use of Versailles as well. So there is a romantic quality, but I personally would not qualify it as a romance novel.
One other one that I thought of that I really liked was The Rossetti Letter
Hope that helps!

You probably will like Sepulchre if you liked the other one. I adored how she did so well the jump between the two times and loved the history she told about.
I am not even going to read on the summary of the rosetti letter as i read Venice...whatever happening in Italy has to be read by me!:-)

Poiema in Nebraska

Hehe, thanks.

I really enjoyed this one which is set in Florence during the Arno flood of '66 (and was written by a man who lived next door to us when I was about 7 years old...) I haven't read his other two, but they are on my TBR.

Haven't been checking in much, sorry I've taken so long to answer.
Yes that's him. It's called The Fall of a Sparrow A Novel
I met the author again while he was researching that book. He was in Italy and came for dinner one evening, and the next day I took him around Rome on my scooter so he could get a little local color. I've got to read the book to see if I recognize anything!!

My name is Kate and I am from Kansas. I'm 24, a Pisces, and feel that the shoe fits. I love reading!! I am a big fan of historical fiction and enjoy fantasy and romance on occasion. I came to GR through my sister-in-law, and now I am a little obsessed. My husband is very understanding (and supportive) of my need to buy books and the time it takes to read them. I hope to expand my reading selections and I am looking forward to participating in the Spring Challenge!
