exactly as Amber said. the north had begun to move forward into industry, like factories and whatnot, and the south still focused mainly on agriculture, which they needed a lot of workers for, therefore making them think slavery was necessary.

Yeah slavery was a huge part of it. It wasn't only that though. The Confederate states Succseeded from the Union and that like set people over the edge. but they succseeded because the Union wanted to ban slavery, so ya, basiclly because people disagreed.
Wars happen for one reason: People disagree with one another.
