message 51: by Joo (new)

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments I did a bit of a cull earlier and deleted the friends that I had no recollection of or never heard of their books.
Lo and behold I get a friend request from a certain Mr Shelly :)

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I've not had a friend request from any of the ones mentioned.

& I don't have many friends either Smiley

message 53: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments I added him as a friend as well.I stupidly thought someone had to be a member of this group to send a friend request. Lesson learned.

message 54: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Barrett | 1537 comments I've had Violine several times, ahem. She's a cracking lass, we're due to get married next April.

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments You better be careful, Andrew, she does seem to be having faithfulness issues.

message 56: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Barrett | 1537 comments Hmmm I think you're right, Geoff.

That's it! The engagement's off. She can have her cheque back!

yeah I got one from 'her' today as well.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Well I'm just feeling left out *huffs*

message 60: by James (new)

James Campbell (jamesccamp) | 44 comments This is just an author trying to make himself look better by amassing as many friends as he can.

It's the same as authors who follow everyone and their mother on Twitter to try to get as many followers as possible.

It's lame, and in the end it's poor marketing practice because you get threads like started about you that damage your reputation.

Geoff, I've also received the female message about friending me as well x

message 62: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments I add most people that request - though I usually roll my eyes a bit if it's an author I've never heard of with 5,000 friends. But I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm probably overdue for a bit of a cull though.

It didn't seem to accept "buggeredifiknow" as a valid answer to the dumb question! I only want to be your friend; I don't want to do your research.... ;)

Three lines? On my screen it comes out as a heart...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments And mine.

Its your heart?

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Cheap Comet hearts, they're always moving about. Not even under guarantee now, of course.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Oh you're all using ithingies instead of a real laptop.

They are definitely three lines. I thought it was some secret sign that meant something that I should know but didn't.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments I have a heart(honest) and use an ordinary laptop as well!

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Liars the lot of you. It's three lines like an equals sign with one extra.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to stir things up now! I don't see a heart, but neither do I see three lines like an equals sign - I see a box with numbers in, in brackets! Honest! I'm using a net book...

message 80: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I only add people as friends if I recognise their name, so they might be a member of the group but never posted but I'll still ignore their friend request. I'm sure they are all lovely people but I just don't see the point in friending someone I am never going to talk to.

Not had a request from that guy Patti, no doubt it'll come in time
