Very enjoyable. I always like listen to Mr. Rothfuss. I've been holding off on reading his books until the 3rd book has a publish date, but I may not be able to hold out much longer.

Don't really have the time to re-read. Too many other books to read, which is why I've been waiting.

Great interview with Mr. Rothfuss. Loving the author guides! Worldbuilders sounds like a great charity and I'll definitely check it out!
Great episode! Pat's a pretty cool guy, and Worldbuilders is a pretty awesome charity. Little sad that my singing book review of The Name of the Wind didn't make it in this one... but there's always more singing to do. Oh, so much more singing...
@Sky - you are the bard! I am in know doubt now how to spell Rothfuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus.

How could they not include that? What a shame.

That was the awesome sauce! I can only guess it was the length. Hopefully there's a follow-up extended interview into which they can squeeze that.
Darren wrote: "I saw this many moons ago. Maybe on Patrick Rothfuss's blog? This was you? I thought it was hilarious."Yep, I always check with the author before making a singing book review, then CC them when I send it to S&L. He thought it was funny enough to post, which is pretty cool.
Great interview. I really loved what he was saying about the inner critique. I followed the advice of 'write, write, write (even if it isn't good)' and got a first draft finished, and am now stuck in editing hell. I have the first part of the first chapter that I actually think is good enough to let people read, but then I have to stop them quickly because its terrible terrible terrible, and then I get really down about how awful my writing is, and how I've written this trashy, messy novel no one will ever like, etc. etc. The fun of writing for me is in the creation, and this part is definitely feeling like hard work, but I was in love with this story when I was writing it, and after watching the interview, I feel like maybe, just maybe I can rescue it from horribleness and turn it into something I'll feel proud of, even if it isn't ever good enough to be published; it can still entertain me...wow, I went on way to much there, but I just felt really positive after hearing what he said, and I wanted to express that. Thanks.
Yay a brilliant interview. :DThanks for asking my question about the inner critic thing. :)
Made my evening, and Lord Sir Patrick of Rothfuss gave some excellent advice too. :)

Aww, sorry about that! I think we just missed it because you sent it over way back in September, and we didn't have a script going yet for Rothfuss at that time.

I liked how well he could articulate what he appreciates about other authors who are his peers. He seems like a good guy.
This interview made me sooo happy. More books in the same world? Excuse me while I fangirl all over this.Such a good interview, lots of different discussion points and insight into the one that is Pat Rothfuss. I thank him for this world he's created, and I admire his dedication to his books. As much as I'd love to have The Doors of Stone today I know that when it is released I will love it because his writing style is absolutely captivating.
Thank you guys for doing this interview.

As a fellow author, I sympathize with this statement.
I am reminded of a Robert Heinlein quote (from Time Enough For Love, I believe) who said: "A poet who reads his verse in public may have other nasty habits."
