L.A. Candy
question
Who has read this Book?
I wasn't impressed at all! It was very poorly written. A middle school kid could have written this book. It was just very simple in vocabulary and the plot itself. I eventually just stopped reading it because I couldn't force myself through it any longer.
It's a great "beach read". Don't look for too much depth in these books. I did find them enjoyable overall.
Read it and it was fabulous! I mean it's one of those books were there people stabbing you in the back, being famous, and some snotty girls. ;)
I liked it- it's not necessarily well-written and it has no depth but it is a fun read - it is what you would expect it to be. It is basically a semi-autobiography of The Hills gang.

I was shocked that I enjoyed the book so much.
Even more shocking was that I read it in one day.
Lauren Conrad isn't an amazing author, but her writing reminds me of the way the Twilight books, Harry Potter books and Hunger Games books are written. Easy to read for everyone. Not big words where you have a dictionary out trying to understand what they mean.
Will recommend this to everyone.

It took me awhile to get into it. The end ends on a total cliff hanger though and I was like "No, I need to know what happens next!"
Truthfully if there's anything that I can say about the book is that the beginning was very slow but the story builds up really well and the ending is excellent~

Lisa - haha exactly. It was like watching the Hills with subtitles lol
I LOVE the L.A. Series!! but The Fame Game is definitely very slow, wish it was a little better but I remain a Conrad fan!! This book is written for those who love Drama, obviously something that is similar to The Hills. I don't think many adults would find these books entertaining but young teens would find it interesting and fun. If you love fiction, easy-reads and drama, these books are for you.
I had been a fan of Lauren Conrad and her shows when I was teenager so I had bought this book out of impulse in 2009 and finally decided to pull it off of the bookshelf to give it a try a few days ago. The beginning is slow and the writing is sub par to say the least so it was hard to keep going, but once the story took off it became better. I ended up reading it in 2 days and I it was a lot better than I expected. The ending was a cliff hanger and made me want to grab the second one immediately to see what was happening and I am looking forward to see how the story continues. It's definitely a light read and you shouldn't go into it wanting a lot of depth and substance.
i read the 3 books and i really did like them , but it definitely has no depth in the reading since it focuses more on the dramatic side. I would say its like the TV series " 90210 beverley hills" which is more directed toward teens .
