He led her towards the market which was beginning to bustle with freshly baked pies and pastries, trinkets and fabrics and spices and jewels. He weaved his way through the crowd of early shoppers, enjoying their lively atmosphere.
Jasmine walked with him through the market smiling at the peace and smells and early shoppers. She heard the talk of people she didn't hear anything else at least she or Lucas were recognized.
"Here." he whispered, stopping in front of a bakery stall."What can I do for you?" the baker asked. "We'll have two breakfast pies please." he replied, taking out some coins to pay. He then handed over one to Jasmine with a smile.
She smiled at him. She took one. "Thank you." She said to Lucas and the baker. They smelled delicious.
Jasmine held his hand walking with him. He is so full of surprises. "You are so full of Surprises." She said to him and walked with him out of the market.
He got onto the old stone bridge and dangled his legs off the side, watching the distant tree line and the sun rise over it. "Best view in town."
Jasmine smiled at him and took a bit of her breakfast. She just wished life stay like this, just peaceful for all of them.
"Oh and one more thing. I know you love music and so...I had my friend track down a decent harp for you. We should check on him after this to see whether he's acquired one yet." he explained.
Jasmine looked up at him. "Really?" she asked him she loved playing the harp and singing she rather have her sister play the harp she has ever played it for a while.
He put his hand on his heart and closed his eyes. "I swear it is true. I kid you not." he said with a playful smile.
"I'm glad you like it. But now I'm guessing you're too anxious to eat? Let's go now." he said quickly, getting off the bridge edge.
"Thank you and yes I am too anxious to even eat." She said to him getting off the bridge standing up straight.
"Just tell me whenever your hand is bothering you, alright?" he made sure as he continued walking.((gtg!))
((Alright cya!))Jasmine nodded. "I will." She said to him her hand wasn't really bothering her at all so it wasn't going to bother him about it.
Lucas smiled at her excitement and opened the shop door, entering. It was filled to the brim with musical instruments and a young man stood over the counter."Lucas! Just in time, I have received your package!"
Lucas grinned and pushed Jasmine forward. "That's actually for this lovely lady."
Jasmine smiled at everything. She blushed a bit and stepped forward. She's always wanted a wonderful harp.
She smiled at it.. She tried to think of a good tune the only one she could think of was the song she and Asha sold to survive.
Jasmine says "thank you." She said to the owner it's wonderful. She went with Lucas holding the harp still.
Lucas smiled and gave her a quick kiss, seeing how pleased she was with the gift. "It's my pleasure. I like seeing you smile, it's been a long time."
Jasmine smiled even more when he kissed her. "It feels good to smile." She said to him smiling around him was the best. It was great and fun she loved smiling when he was around.
"Let's go back. Mara probably is worried out of her wits for us." he said with a chuckle before taking her hand and leading her back through the streets.
Jasmine smiled. "Yes let's go." She held his had and walked with him through the streets holding the harp still too.
Just as they neared Mara's house, Lucas's smile faded. Ahead, where the home was supposed to be, there was a massive fire.
"Wha..." Lucas began in disbelief. Neighbors were trying to put out the inferno as they approached. "Mara!" he shouted up to the building, searching for any signs of the woman.
"What happened here?" he demanded to of the neighbor who was making water runs. "Just sparked off at dawn. No idea.""And the woman? Who lived here?"
"No sign of her..." he said dismally. Lucas then grabbed the bucket from him and turned to Jasmine. "We need to put this fire out."
He dosed it on the bottom section of the house, where the fire was thinning out due to lack of wood. The other neighbors were helping to put out the flames as well and Lucas couldn't help but look up, hoping Mara would be alright.
Jasmine kept helping getting lots of water. She hoped Mara was alright she felt guilty of them leaving her.
Lucas began feeling that sick pang of guilt that he and Jasmine had escaped, merely by luck and disobedience, and had survived while Mara, who was kind and took care of them, was perishing.
Jasmine felt tears filling her eyes she felt so bad. She just hoped whoever started it wasn't still there. They could be looking for her and Lucas. ((When should I have the prince jump in.. Because I think he'll be good for Asha?))
((I suppose with the fire, it'll attract his attention and when he realizes who Jasmine is, he'll go on a hunt after Lucas and her as they escape back to Tyrell where they'll pick up Asha. And I suppose from there, they convince him to help them rather than his greedy father?))"Who...who could have done this?" he hissed as he grabbed another bucket from Jasmine, throwing it into the flames.
