Hi. I'm new to this group, but I feel at home here. I'm an author. I've just published my first historical reincarnation novel, Five Flowers. It follows the lives of 5 Tudor queens as they come back together in Victorian London's Whitechapel district and again in the US 1960s. It's a character driven novel, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. It's available as ebook $1.99 and paperback $15.95 from http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos... or www.reincarnationbooks.comI enjoyed this one so much, I'm researching another of the same genre.

You've got me interested in posssibly adding a topic to promote my book. It's a scary thing - I'm not wired to do such things and I'm very new at it.
Were I to do this first how do I create it and second what are the activities and duties of moderating it?
Well, I'm glad I'm doing a good job, haha ;)
Okay, first you clock on the topic folder "Books and Author's Discussions" once that pulls you up to the new page, up at the right of the listings, you should see a prompt for 'add new topic' once you're there you can title the topic and just write whatever you want about your book.
As for moderating, just subscribe to email alerts, and make sure you check regularly to see if anyone has any questions for you.

You are doing a good job and I think you didn't even have to add the 'haha'
Thanks for the prompt reply.

Your plot for 'Five Flowers' intrigued me well enough. I liked the possiblities. How would Tudor/Victorian ladies deal with the 60's? I'll check it out.
Yes Franki that sounds like a really good storyline. I am in the UK so do you think it will be possible to get it published here?
Suggestion for everyone. If you are replying to someone else's post, click the 'reply' button instead of just typing your reply in the 'comment' box. That makes it so much easier to follow a thread.

It seems authors can mention their books right away, is that correct? In Historical Fictionistas you cannot mention your book until you make 25 posts in the group discussions. Any other rules about authors promoting their books here?
(Don't mention Historical Fictionistas to me) I'm not going to say what I think about them
Yes, here are my rules:
I don't really care where you post things, I only suggest you put it in the folders of the same nature that are set up so people can find it better. But if your book comes up in a topic or discussion, feel free to talk about it. As long as we all act like adults, and don't post anything off-color, anything goes.

Hi Hazel, I'm trying to set up a thread in Books and Authors discussions under title: Marie Macpherson 16th Century Scottish Reformation but have become lost in the maze! Help please. (Caught a fleeting glimpse of Heading: Books & Authors but it disappeared into the mist again)
Thanks

Just sharing a site I hadn't seen before. Didn't know where else to put it.ASNØC ~ Anglo-Saxon, Norse & Celtic Studies

The Lion's Blood (at present duology) by Steven Barnes is an alternate universe where Muslims conquer the Celts. The third book has been in progress for what seems like a long time, but it's a fascinating take on history.
Will there be a third book? That's great news, but I gave up waiting for it a while back. I got to meet Steven Barns shortly after I read Lion's Blood, and he was a great speaker, and really nice, talking to several of us one-on-one after his presentation. He did say that he planned more books--but that was in 2003!I will also add that this is one of those series where I liked the second book better than the first, so if there's a third, I'll definately read it!

Also, a couple 'guidelines' If you post a topic here, it is your responsibility to moderate it, because I might not be getting into all the discussions if they are about books I haven't read. If you have any problems with flamers, spammers, or anyone being really nasty, send me a message right away so I can deal with them.
Enjoy!
