Ann, this was so much fun, and I just want you to know how much I appreciate your efforts in organizing the Secret Santa exchange. I don't know whether I enjoyed more the researching & trying to decide on a bookish gift for someone I've never met, or anticipating and receiving a completely mysterious bookish gift! Maybe November 10 or so. It would give us enough time to sign up and for you to do the matches with less stress. Make the deadline to sign up December and then it gives enough time to be matched and send the gift.

I love the enthusiasm and can't wait to do this again too! Right now Ann and I are finalizing Booktopia 2014 plans so we can announce ASAP. Once that happens, I'm sure Ann will set up the new Secret Santa "event."

I'd say mid-November will still give plenty of time for names to be assigned and gifts to be mailed.

OK, I'm ready to start this ... I would like 2 or 3 volunteers to help. Responsibilities would include publicizing the exchange in the Goodreads group, answering rules/procedures questions, helping folks navigate the Elfster website, monitoring the Goodreads thread, etc. In other words, I'll set up the exchange, but I'd love a few volunteers to take over from there.

If you're interested, please email me by Thursday 11/7 at 12 noon Eastern Time.

And please don't take it personally if I don't choose you to help -- chances are we will have more volunteers than needed.

Volunteers will still have a Secret Santa and get to play.
