Tara Eaton | 2 comments "Why We Broke Up" by Daniel Handler was a very enjoyable read. It follows the love story of two teenagers, whom struggle through the ups and downs of lust; personally I don't think love exsists at such an age. The book is written from the point of view of Min, a girl who has a passion for old films and isn't quite your average, cookie-cutter barbie doll. She takes you through the the times that she had with Ed Slaterton, the jocky basketball captain. Though they come from two very different worlds, they create something special. That is, until event upon event become the reasons for "why we broke up". Min and Ed deal with the trials of adeloescence, the pressure to drink, party and engage in sexual activity. They also must face Ed's mother's illness, and his somewhat overbearing sister Joan. Through their trials and tribulations, Min changes Ed in a way, but when it all comes down to it, they brake up. This book kept me turning the pages, wondering what would finally split the two apart. I would rate this novel 3.5 out of 5 stars, because it lacked a bit of suspense and excitement.

Spw | 1 comments I agree with what you said regarding how it kept making you want to turn the page. I felt the same way; however, I still found some parts to be confusing because of the various unknown references to movies. I do agree with your rating, too!

Meg | 1 comments I also agree with you about how the novel kept making you want to turn the page, however some aspects of the novel really confused me and made me want to skip over that certain part of the book. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 starts also, I thought it was a good book, but nothing super special.

Sjw | 2 comments I agree. I think the book was quite boring after the first few chapters. You could look at the picture at the beginning of each chapter and basically know what the entire book was going to be about. I think your rating is accurate and I gave it the same rating.
