Celeste nodded to her and waited for her to throw the knife. It didn't look like there would be any corrections she could giver her, but she can try
Chandra focused and she threw it as she explained. She hit the bullseye and then stood straight from her stance.
"just pretend I corrected that. There's nothing to correct. Celeste said, nodding to the girl approvingly
Chandra nodded. "Alright," she said with a smile. She looked at Celeste's knives and remarked," These are nice. They're much better than the Stilettos I have at home."
Celeste looked down at the knives an grinned "thanks, my husband got them for me as a Christmas present" she said. It was a bit odd, but true
"He certainly has a good eye," Chandra said, handing Celeste the knife carefully so that neither one of them got hurt.
Celeste took the knife back carefully, and with only barely looking, threw it at the target, getting right in te center
Chandra clapped lightly. "Gosh! That was amazing, I hope I can do that someday," Chandra exclaimed.
Celeste grinned "oh you're already close, you'll probably be there by the end of the year"
Celeste nodded "yeah, definitely. You know the movement of the wrist and the technique, you just need to start with angles"
"for example; start by turning yourself a few inches away from the target, then when you get good at that, keep turning"
Wanna try?" Celeste asked, dangling the knife in front of her. Carefully, of course
"well you normally stand straight in line with you're target when you throw, right? I always did. Just turn yourself a liiittlle bit to te left" Celeste advised
Chandra did as she was told and she got in her stance and threw. "Much better actually," she said.
Celeste nodded "good job, you could probably turn even more"
Celeste sat on her desk and watched the girl intently, she definitely had a talent
Celeste nodded "once again, great"
Saee walked into the weapons class a little late, she had gotten lost and wasn't sure of where the class was, so she finally got up the nerve to ask a teacher which had resulted in her finding the correct building. She was blushing slightly from the mix up and having to talk to a male without being spoken to first. It was hard to change from a lifestyle you had always known to one of the complete opposite. Her hand reached for the handle and opened the door a bit nervously. She hoped that the teacher was female so she wouldn't be too uncomfortable in the class. She had a very colorful hemp bag on her shoulder that had all of her books and school supplies in it, a small loop nose ring, and her hair was done up in a ponytail.
Celeste heard the door open and looked over at an Indian girl "newcomer! Welcome!" she grinned
Saee looked up and saw a very nice looking woman, she seemed cheerful and friendly. "Hello, is this the weapons classroom?" She inquired as she looked around the room, it seemed like she was in the right place, she adjusted the bag on her shoulder and walked closer to the woman she hoped would be the instructor.
Celeste hopped off of her desk and nodded "sure is, I'm mrs mccloud, instructor. And you are?" she stuck out her hand to shake
Saee looked at the hand extended to her, then remembered this was their way of greeting, she shook Mrs. McCloud's hand firmly and looked down slightly as she spoke, "Saee, I'm supposed to be in your class. I am very sorry, I was lost on the campus." She explained in a soft voice. She felt her cheeks heat, and wished that she had been more socialized, stupid father.
Celeste shrugged "don't worry about it. I always got lost during first week, forgetting th layout..." she said in an especially kind tone, this girl seemed a bit nervous
"Oh really?" She asked with a surprised expression, "You went here as well then?" She asked Mrs. McCloud, she was curious to know this instructor better, she seemed very nice. She shrugged the bag off her shoulder and set it against the wall near the entrance/exit door.
Chandra looked over to see a new girl.... Her name was Saee. She looked over and she smiled. A new girl, she looked like she wasn't from around here. It enticed her.
Celeste nodded "yes I did. Didn't foot many classes, but I did come to the academy" she grinned, remembering skipping classes with bex jack and James
"Oh?" Saee asked with a concerned face, she wasn't sure what she meant by not going to many classes. Was that allowed? She then noticed another student in the room and she smiled over at her. "Hi." She said kindly.
"I wasn't a good student hon, I skipped class constantly" Celeste explained "but I'm not supposed to promote that...so don't skip class"
"I wouldn't think of it Mrs. McCloud," Saee told her with an earnest face. It would never even cross her mind, she did as she was told and that was that. Her uncle had said she must attend every class no matter what, so unless she was on her death bed that was exactly what she planned on doing. Unless faculty told her she had to do otherwise of course. Wow being out of her fathers house was so confusing.
Saee looked at the other girl, she seemed nice. Would it only be the two of them for class? That would be nice, she would love that actually. It was hard for her to interact as it was, especially with boys. She truly hoped that others wouldn't join the class. "What should I do first?" She asked looking between teacher and student.
"weelll do you have any experience with weapons?" Celeste asked her
Saee shook her head vigorously, "No m'am I'm sorry I've never handled any." She felt a little stupid, but her uncle had thought that it would help her break out of her shell some, plus this way she could defend herself.
"don't be sorry sweet, it's class, you're here I learn" Celeste said. She'd gotten into the habit of calling young girls 'hon' and 'sweet', she hoped no one minded
"Oh okay," She said and looked around the room at the many weapons, she was very nervous. "Do most girls know weapons already when first coming into your class?" She asked curiously.
"it varies. Sometimes girls are experts, some times they're just like you-no real experience" Celeste said "but don't worry about it, we'll make an expert out f you"
Saee watched the other girl with wide eyes as she threw a knife, a knife! The thing she had been cutting vegetables with since she could practically walk. She looked over at the instructor with doubtful eyes, she didn't think she was going to do too well.
"alrighty. So for you, I'm gonna have you choose what to start with. But class is almost over. So we'll start next time" celeste said
Saee wasn't sure if she wanted to choose the weapon, she frowned slightly and looked around. "Something simple..." She whispered to herself as she checked out the options. "A sword?" She asked instead of said, she was unsure of herself.
Chandra pulled the knife out of the target and she handed it back to Celeste carefully. "Thanks for the great lesson today," she said to her teacher.
"we can start with fencing if you want, it's barely a weapon, it just teaches movements" celeste explained, wanting the girl to feel comfortable
