Always Open: Uniquely's Lounge. Make Yourselves At Home

Hugs, my dear friend.

Hugs back to you !! :)

It might be worth posting the question on some literary blog though - try http://fineprintlit.blogspot.com/
They might be able to give you a definitive answer.

Hey UM,
As to your question about the NaNoWriMo event. You only have to post your word counts not your actual words. So you do not have to worry about 1st time publishing rights.
Even at the very end of the event, you have the option to upload your story encrypted, so there is never a problem of your story being posted to the Internet. Of course you can always post excerpts of your story “if you wish” on your NaNoWriMo homepage (or anywhere else for that matter).
Loved the Wally World pictures, I just spent the past hour looking through all seventy-something pages. What a giggle, I think I have actually seen some of those people in our local store. Just too much fun.
LOVED the drunk pumpkins. If I wasn’t afraid of our dogs getting into the pumkkin innards, I would do a display like that for our steps :]
Lastly, but most importantly, thank you so much for the lovely cyber balloons and pretty sterling silver rose. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated, more than you can ever know :]
Best of luck with the NaNoWriMo event. If you haven’t signed up for a region yet, you can always sign up for the USA/New York/ Oswego … I am this year’s official NaNoWriMo Liaison for that region. Woo! Woo!
Oh, and have you heard the New Moon Soundtrack? I am dying to listen to it. November is going to be the best month ever :]

I'm going to try and do that with each character.

"
Thanks! Today was one of the best days I've had in a long, long time. The interviewing Tobias part was just awesome.
Hugs

Thanks, Renee! It probably sounds dumb, but I was smiling the whole time I was doing the interview and I'm still smiling!
One of the biggest stumbling blocks I've had these past months was that my own moods were effecting my characters because I didn't have a clear feel for who they really were. Now I feel like I can really sit down and work with them, not against them.

That really means alot to me, coming from you. I hope it works for you, too!

Does that make any sense, cause I haven't had my coffee yet.
Hey Stinky,
Outstanding word count...I am going to have to write all day to play catch-up with you :]
I am so proud of you...keep up the excellent work!

Yep, that's exactly how it happened for me. I was always a little suspicious of this characters motives. What makes him tick, why he was such a man'ho, etc. Interviewing is going to be a tool I use frequently for a couple reasons. 1. Even though I hit a wall with my story after only 1,700 words, the interview allowed me to stay focused and keep writing. 2. It gave me the opportunity to really analyze his actions and not have to try and assume anything. I was able to ask the questions which needed answering.
I've read other authors who do this. J.R. Ward being my favorite, as well as Suzanne Brockmann. I always thought it was just a fun little side diddy for them, which is why I tried it, but it's so much more.

Thanks, Dee! The word count came very easy when I started the interview. I plan to hang onto that and clean it up at a later date. Hopefully I'll be able to use it someday.
Hey Stinky,
How's everything going? Did you get to see New Moon yet? What are you doing for Turkey Day? Are you going to be the one cooking?
We are going to a friend's house for dinner. Which is nice, but I love to cook on the holidays, especially in my new kitchen.
You were right...now that the dust has settled, I am really enjoying the new addition. Thanks for keeping me sane through all the insanity.
Oh, a little pressie for you:

Enjoy, and have a most wonderful holiday week!

Excellent article, Dee! No, I haven't seen it yet. Megan and I talked about going today, but I have a horrible sore throat and haven't felt too well for a few days.
T-Day will be here. I love cooking the turkey, stuffing, potatos, gravy, veggies and appetizers. This year we will add a ham and more hamish sides. (I love making up new words LOL)
I'm soooo happy that your house horrors are over. I told you so! I told you so! It is so very worth it once it's all over. It feels almost like a brand new house, doesn't it? But even better because the changes were all yours and not some builders decision about what a generic buyer would want.
You have a spectacular time with your friends, and know I'll be thinking of you and wishing you a most wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hugs back atcha!

Oh, and Hi UM! hugs to you too."
LOL Hugs back to you!
I am sorry that you are under the weather. Hope you get better real soon. Not only because you have to see NM, but because you have a HUGE dinner to cook tomorrow :]

Have a great time with your friends!

It might happen. :( But I have a 22 lb turkey defrosted and a ham as well. I wonder if it will keep a couple extra days.

Wow, that is one huge bird! It must take several hours to get ready, though I don't know the first thing about cooking turkeys. Couldn't someone else cook it for you or would that feel totally wrong?
I hope you feel better today, and that someone is taking excellent care of you untill you are well again!

How did the your Turkey day turn out?
"
Well, we had to cook it or it would have gone bad, but I'm still not feeling all that well.
Then, the most awful thing happened. The daughter of my nextdoor neighbor came over to tell me that he (her dad/my neighbor) was murdered about 2 weeks ago. :( How horrid for the family. Made my plague seem petty, ya know?
How was your T-Day?
Oh man that is horrible. I am so sorry. What a horrible thing to happen.
As to my T-day, it was un-eventful, which was a good thing :}

Or is that too mushy?

Or is that too mushy?"
I didn't find it mushy at all. Here's one to you [image error]
And as you can see, I can't hold my liquor well at all. [image error]
Hey Stinky,
How is it going? I hope you are feeling better and that your word count is increasing. It was fun doing NaNo with you this year, and I look forward to writing along side your this upcoming year.
Did you get to see New Moon yet? You HAVE to go! It is just too much fun!

I made it to only 12,000ish words :( I was doing so well until the plague took hold.
But, several things have been revealed to me, and detailed notes have been made so I will begin writing again as soon as I can stay upright long enough.
As much as I hate doctors, they terrify me, I nearly asked to be taken to the ER Friday night as I really had begun to think I might have something serious like Swine Flu or something. By Saturday morning I had stopped coughing up blood tinged mucus and was feeling better. Now I still cough and sneeze, but the fever is gone and I was able to keep my dinner down tonight.
I can't wait to have the new stuff all written out and be able to share it with you. I think you'll love it, too.
Congrats on your amazing word count. I check on your progress from time to time and you've done well.
*hugs*
Hey Stinky,
Please DO go to the doctor if you have not already. You really need to get on some meds. Are you using a vaporizor? Please take care of yourself. We need you to be well enough to keep writing :]
As much as you hate doctors, the alternative is even worse! Don’t make me do something drastic! Like call in the Marines, or Dr. Carlisle.
Huge hugs

Hugs and love to you my friend...

I used those shower vapor tablets as well as a plug in type Vickes thing. Because of a heart problem I had several years ago, there's really nothing effective enough for me to take orally, so I usually have to rough it out. I probably should have gotten on antibiotics but as I said, I'm getting better now.
A few years back I fell going down some steps and landed right on the edge of the step. My leg hurt like heck, but I didn't go to the doctor. Finally, about 6 months later I went because the knee pain was so severe. The MRI revealed that in the fall I had gotten a depressed fracture on the lateral tibial plateau. The doctors first words to me where "Who the hell do you think you are, Wonderwoman?"
I felt very foolish when he told me I could have gotten gangrene in the bone.
So, I really was going to ask to go to ER, but as I said, by the next morning I was doing better.
Hugs and love you, Dee, Paul and Wendy!
