no worries. just read when you can. I have a few other books going so I don't mind pausing. It kind of adds to the suspense :)
Hey guys. Have you noticed this? Aron always carries the girls' (Charlies and Brook) bags. I am not sure it is because of the class divisions thing or because it is required by the law that men carry women's bag hehe :P

More men jump into the "bag carrying" role too!!I was trying to decide if it was a "man" thing or a "class system" thing..... it seems old fashioned, but I thought the boy that carried your books in school was supposed to be your boyfriend! LOL! it's definitely a weird distraction in this book....
yes... :) I think maybe because it's a "queendom" so men are supposed to respect the women :D
I noticed that right away. And I still don't understand why her sister couldn't kiss her... But if you know don't tell me I'm gonna catch up haha

So I'm up to chapter V now. I'm REALLY liking this book! While they haven't specifically mentioned her and the queen yet, I can tell why she is going to want her (and given how enamored Charlie is with the silk and The Academy and the riches, this should be interesting!) I always assumed that the bag-carrying was just another show of Aron's kindness. I don't think it has anything to do with the class system though, because it sounds like Brook's family is less well-off than Aron's anyway (although they're all vendors so the discrepancy can't be too large).
well, finished. I agree with Gisbelle. 1st half was much better. Yay, Tesni! We'll chat once Tayla is done!! :)

Just finished!! I literally couldn't put this book down once it gained momentum. I loved it. I'm on my phone and can't see spoiler comments but ill see them after I get home! And I have a lot of things to say hehe

It turns out I was right with the Queen. I assumed that from the beginning, if only because of how the novel was structured.
I also guessed the relationship between Xander and Max, but I liked that. Especially how (view spoiler)
I also liked when the author elaborated about Brooklynn. That extra depth was necessary and really added to the book.
The only part of the book that I had a serious problem with was the ending. (view spoiler) Am I just overreacting, or did anyone else feel the complete redirection of the plot?

No, that is a great point! I hadn't even made the comparisons to think of how they would be totally transforming the genre in the 2nd book! But yes! that just doesn't sound like that great of a plot (totally different from this first book!)

Good point! I don't think the second book will be any better. I was excited reading part I. But when reaching part II, everything was just a bit bland and awkward.

Exactly. Part I made me so excited to see where the direction of the plot was going. Part II just made me want to finish the book and move on.
