Simon Okill (tassyoneill) | 1 comments I had my first review and it was bloody awful. The reviewer had not read the book properly as she had all the characters' traits wrong, she said women do not fuss over themselves in mirrors, men do not ogle over-exposed female flesh, it is obscene to show Bigfoot mating at their wedding, people do not fart, people do not play pranks the list was endless and she did not get the book at all - save our animals! Anyway, the review actually propelled readers to get interested. haha

Yeah I had a lot of negative comments as well especially since my novel revolves around vampires which publishers feel is something that has been over played.

The best way to deal with things like this ( in my opinion) is to tell yourself that not everyone will love your work. Those who do are gifts - they are the reason we hang in there.

And yeah if bad publicity encouraged your ratings and brought you exposure it's a bonus. I always say any exposure is good exposure - bad or good.
