Trudie (trudieb) Ok, so not sure how this is going to go..but some people might want to add topics for discussion ..so we can remember to discuss them at our F2F meeting or perhaps this could be a area to discuss your thoughts on the book even if you can't make it to the meeting.... ?
I can answer my own question and say yes I have read three of his before : The Remains of the Day, When We Were Orphans and Never Let Me Go
I liked them all but The Remains of the Day really stuck with me and I would say I am definitely an Ishiguro fan based on these three books.
Waiting patiently for The Unconsoled to arrive in my letterbox !

Daz | 4 comments I have read all of the above along with The Unconsoled and Nocturnes. The Unconsoled and When We Were Orphans being two of my favourite books. Ishiguro is one of my favourite authors.

Have just started Unconsoled. Must say am finding it rather hard to get a handle on the story and writing style - one conversation in a lift takes 4 pages. Very slow lift! But Darryl - you did warn us it was an unusual book. Looks like we will have a lot to discuss.

Trudie (trudieb) Yes I too am finding this book hard to get a handle on - its like I am entering someones dream..time seems to do odd things and people and places are sort of half remembered...its feels like a surrealist painting at times...anyway looking forward to the discussion next week
