Perfect! This is great!

Jenny (jennyc89) | 135 comments Lets do this! I've already read some of the books, but there's a good deal that I've missed. Then there's The Great Gatsby- I "read" it in high school but wasn't a fan (I'm not sure I read all of it) so I'll give it another go.

Perks of Being a Wallflower
The Catcher in the Rye
The Fountainhead
The Great Gatsby
Hamlet
Naked Lunch
On the Road
Peter Pan
A Separate Peace
The Stranger
This Side of Paradise
To Kill a Mockingbird
Walden, or Life in the Woods

Edit February 2017: I finished the Great Gatsby and I loved it! I have a slow going with this challenge, but someday I will read them all!
Edit May 2018: I've read and re-read Peter Pan a couple of months ago, I adore that book and I totally forgot that it featured in this challenge! I tried reading Naked Lunch but I had some trouble, maybe I will try again.
Edit May 2018: Thought I would love this Side of Paradise because I love the Great Gatsby, but sadly, I didn't.
Edit March 2019: I loved to Kill a Mockingbird, the writing was so clever and the topics so important!
Edit April 2020: Hamlet was on my reading list for so long, I'm very glad that I've read it. So special how stories can still move you centuries after they're written.
Edit May 2020: The stranger was a strange book. What was it about? The danger of indifference, the power of it? What makes us human? I hope it's about feeling and caring and not being like this character at all.
Edit August 2020: Tried reading Naked Lunch again, stopped before I was halfway through. This is not my book, I won't try reading it again.
Edit August 2024: The philosophy of Walden was right in my lane, but the self-importance of the author not. DNF On the road, didn't feel interesting at all.

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) I just saw this challenge. Turns out I've already read 9 of the books on the list. Apparently I went to a very good high school because 7 of the 9 date from that time period with me.

I am STARTING THIS.

I have read Perks and it is my ALL time favorite. So I am going to jump in on this with the re-read of it and then continue down the list
