Have you read book 2?

It's 398 pages w/ 81 chapters.
about 1/2 way, 200 pages would have us end at Chapter 35, begin Chapter 36?
:)

So do you want to do 200 tonight, 100 tomorrow, and another 100 on Tuesday?

Happy Reading! :D

(view spoiler)
I think the plot is just about to take off. I'm enjoying it but still feel pretty confused.....

I don't even want to know what was going through her head when she thought of that o__O;;

So....Yeah, the season is just...ugh. I think almost the last 100 pages was devoted to it. I'm not sure what I think of that being in the book. I'm sure there is a point (view spoiler) I hope you guys can help me understand why it seems to be in the book. it just seems like there may have been a better way to put it in there.
Oh, and it seems pretty obvious who the bad guy is. Has everyone else guess yet??

I'm not sure how I feel about this book, though. I don't like Elder and his insta-love very much... and the Season is really gross...but otherwise I like it a lot.
As for the bad guy - I'm pretty sure I've known all along but they haven't "revealed" it yet so we'll see!

Yeah, the season is just gross...

So I'm not going to put anything in spoiler tags because we've all finished. Fair warning to those who are lurking or something.
I knew it was Orion the whole time. He just seemed so creepy. I didn't make the connection that he was the (middle) elder. My guess was that he had just hacked into the database and made his DNA come up as Eldest/Elder and then shut off his wi-com. I like this twist better.
I agree that there was a point to the season. It showed the calculated, apathetic nature of everything on the ship, down to something as personal as mating. However, I thought it was put in way too much detail, and the rape scene did not have to be taken as far as it did.
I was also really upset about Harley's death. I guess it was foreshadowed pretty heavily, but I was hoping that we'd at least have him for the duration of the first book...
The only person I really couldn't figure out was Doc. Sometimes he had a conscience, sometimes he didn't... I think the author should have developed him a little more. His actions didn't always make sense to me.

Yay! congrats on finishing!
I totally agree with everything you said!!!
Orion was just so creepy and so obvious!
And Harley's death broke my heart. I see the reasoning - to show you just how stir crazy you get on a spaceship, and how heartbroken you can be to lose your one and only - but ugh, it was just soooo hard for him to go. I would have loved to have had him until the end of the 1st book.
I totally thought Doc was off too!!! He was the grey character for me - definitely not good, but not like Orion/Middle Elder either ....or even Elder Elder (lol)
But the Season...Yeah, it was just waaaay too drawn out and way too much information. I just thought there HAD to be a better way to get that point across.

Oh my gosh, yes and it was so great!!! although it was just a really long time to spend in a theater!
Have you seen Breaking Dawn II yet??? OMG! It's so good!

Sorry I didn't see this!!! Now I feel bad, haha. Thank YOU for reading it with me! I've always wanted to read it and never got around to it - that's what I love about these buddy reads! Plus, you and I tend to have very similar opinions about books :)
And YES I did! I saw it last weekend. It was definitely the best twilight movie yet. Normally, I've never been a huge fan of the movies - all of the fangirling kind of killed it for me. And Kristen Stewart. But she did amazingly well in BDII. The only part I didn't like was that they cut one of my favorite parts of the book (where they're all watching baseball tv and emmet goes "at least someone here is scoring!" literally one of the best lines of the whole book)
