Melissa | 1245 comments OK Jael, I noticed you like YA books as much as I do so I've chosen The Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty for you. It's a book written in letter form between three girls from an all girl school and three boys from the all boys school set in Australia. It's very funny and a great book. Great balance between the laughs, tears and frustrations of being that age. If for some reason you are unable to get your hands on that book, I recommend Shadowland by Meg Cabot. It's the first in the Mediator series and I noticed you had book 2 and 3 on your list, but not this one. This is one of my very favorite YA series of all time so I highly recommend them.

Sheree | 21 comments Lori,
Yeah not fair, the pressure LOL, you already have virtually everything I like in your read or TBR lists but I still have one or two up my sleeve that I think you'll like.

I'm going with The Bride Finder by Susan Carroll for your March read ~ Enjoy

message 57: by Nikki ♥ (new)

Nikki ♥ Thanks, Tammy :)

message 58: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 367 comments Jes, for you I choose The Luxe by Anna Godberson.

The Luxe

You seem to enjoy classic stories and novels that feature great depth and emotion. I think this might appeal, even though it is considered a YA novel.

message 59: by Lara (new)

Lara | 109 comments Sheree,
Ok...I think I did better this month choosing for you. LOL! I have chosen Dead Witch Walking (Rachel Morgan Series #1) by Kim Harrison. I hope this will be better than last months. I know you said last month's pick wasn't bad, but I want you to love something I pick for you. LOL! Happy Reading!

message 60: by Sheree (new)

Sheree | 21 comments Thanks Lara, I'm excited about this one!

message 61: by Jes (new)

Jes | 15 comments Annie: I have chosen....

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

I think you will enjoy it. I thought It was a good combination of the books that you seem to like. We both like some of the same books I noticed...and I couldn't put this one down!
I hope you like it!

message 62: by Jes (new)

Jes | 15 comments Sarah,

Your book choice seems simply marvelous! As for it being YA ...it's all good. A good book is a good book. Thanks bunches!

message 63: by Annie (new)

Annie (themadnessofhamsters) Hi Jes - thanks for the recommendation! I've reserved it from the library...

For Briansgirl - it's not on your list - but is at your library (thanks for the link!) - romance, regency, light and fun, bit fantasy, bit mystery... and it's YA (my subject of choice!)... Sorcery and Cecelia by Patricia C Wrede & Caroline Stevermer.
First in a trilogy... and one I recommend for anyone who grew up reading Barbara Cartland/Georgette Heyer Regency romances, and likes fantasy, mysteries...
Hope you enjoy it!

message 64: by ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (last edited Mar 02, 2009 08:13AM) (new)

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Thanks Annie. I got it from the library this morning. Sounds interesting.

Lori (moderatrixlori) Sheree wrote "I'm going with The Bride Finder by Susan Carroll for your March read"

Looks like another winner Sheree. It's a book that I probably wouldn't have found on my own AND it's available at my library! Yay!

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments Some awesome choices :D I am so excited to read the one chosen for me!! :D

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel: hi! You've read some of my TBR books, you lucky thing. For your March challenge, I nominate Wicked Lovely, by Melissa Marr. YA with a little bit of spiciness. Hope you like it!

message 68: by Annie (new)

Annie (themadnessofhamsters) Briansgirl wrote: "Thanks Annie. I got it from the library this morning. Sounds interesting."

Hope you enjoy it! I was tempted to recommend the Richard Hammond autobiography, On the edge, but it didn't look like your library had it! It's a lot more series than Jeremy Clarkson's books, of course... but has appeal to anyone who is a Top Gear fan... like me, my mum, my niece...

message 69: by Malena (new)

Malena (badgalmalmal) Thanks Moss! I've heard the book is awesome. Looking forward to reading it.

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel wrote: "Thanks Moss! I've heard the book is awesome. Looking forward to reading it."

I just finished it a couple of days ago and loved it. Haven't read YA in a while and was not terribly keen, but it was great. Let me know how you like it!

Thanks, Glori! I recently read my first JAK book and loved it so I am looking forward to this one. I have been wanting to read Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series too.

My fiance's fav tv show is Top Gear. He lives in England. I can't get it here where I live. He turned me onto the Jeremy Clarkson books. Library doesn't have those either. I had to buy them used online (and apparantly, imported). Thankfully they didn't cost much and were a christmas present to myself.

message 73: by Amanda A (new)

Amanda A | 769 comments Hi Barbara,

You have read so many books that I want to read. I hope I have chosen something you'll like. My pick for you is The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I read this last year and loved it! My alternate pick for you is The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. This is the first book in her YA trilogy set in the same Otherworld as her adult series. I really enjoyed this one too.

message 74: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) OEWDvictim - I got you for this challenge but since your profile is private, I can't see what's on your bookshelves! I'm loathe to pick out something for you until I can see what you've already read. Please accept my friend request so I can take a peak at what you like to read.

message 75: by ♥Tricia♥ (new)

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments Doh! I must put that in the instructions next time =/

Must have bookshelves somewhat updated and public so your choosers can get an idea of what you like.

message 76: by Annie (new)

Annie (themadnessofhamsters) Luckily, in New Zealand, we do get to see Top Gear - if you have the right aerial and position!
Sunday 7.30pm - I'm watching Top Gear...

message 77: by Barbara ★ (last edited Mar 03, 2009 04:08PM) (new)

Barbara ★ | 3905 comments Thanks Amanda, good choices!

I really like time travel romances so The Time Traveler's Wife is right up my alley and I will definitely read this one.

I also like Kelley Armstrong but haven't read any of her YA books so if I have time with all my challenges this month, I will pick this one up as well.

So far I am LOVING this book :D The bunny slippers!! HA HILARIOUS :D

message 79: by Malena (new)

Malena (badgalmalmal) 5th in queue at the library for Wicked Lovely. Hopefully it comes soon.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

OEWDvictim -- sorry I got it wrong. I had Mel, not you as my challenge victim, so please feel free to ignore the friend request!

The only way I could get it is if I got BBC America on cable and unfortunately, I don't get it.

Enjoy!

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments Still need the following to check who they got so the readers can get the books chosen for this month.

OEWDvictim
Jael

Lori hasn't chosen for OEWDvictim because your profile is private.

Glad you are liking it. The book has some pretty funny parts. Wait until her cell phone rings :)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments You are welcome. Happy to know you enjoyed it.

message 86: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) OEWDvictim, my pick for you is City of Bones. It is the first in a series. I loved this book and I think you will to.

Enjoy!

message 87: by ♥Tricia♥ (new)

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments Will give 1 more day to choose the books and then I will have to choose for them. It really isn't fair to sign up and then go MIA leaving the person with no book choice.

message 88: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Definitely spoils all the fun. So do private profiles. I'm thinking we should have a rule, you're allowed to join the challenge only if your profile is set to public. Uhhh....

message 89: by ♥Tricia♥ (new)

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments I will definitely add that to the information :)

message 90: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (cddimmitt) I was starting to wonder about what I should read...

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

Me too. My picking has gone unpicked thus far.

message 92: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Tricia, you're the boss here, how about we have Courtney and Moss pick reads for each other?
(just a suggestion)

message 93: by ♥Tricia♥ (last edited Mar 06, 2009 12:48PM) (new)

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments Yeah, If you guys could pick for one another that would work out perfectly.

Sorry this happened to you guys :(

For those that signed up and went missing please let me know if you guys are alright. We understand life comes first and I am concerned that something has happened to have kept them from participating. If this is the case let me know please as soon as you can..

Because I hate to be the mean guy here but if you sign up and just went mia without good reason we will have to forfeit you from participating in the next one.

message 94: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (cddimmitt) Not a problem! Moss, I'll start looking for a book right now.

message 95: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (cddimmitt) Moss, for you I choose two books. Pick the one you'd rather read. My first pick is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It's a paranormal that I absolutely loved. If that's not your style, or have already read it, my alternate pick is Naked by David Sedaris. You have several of his others on your list, but not this one. To be truthful, I've never read it. However, since you've liked his others, you may like this one. :)

message 96: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (last edited Mar 06, 2009 12:59PM) (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Tricia,

I know Jael had mentioned that her computer is in the shop like a couple of weeks ago in some of the threads. I'm not sure if that is the reason why she hasn't been online recently.

message 97: by ♥Tricia♥ (new)

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments Doh that sucks Yz, I will keep that in mind for the next challenge so she can participate.

Thanks Courtney! I'll take the Sedaris book since I am already an Edward devotee (I should really update my booklists).

I have a choice of two for you too: either Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman, or Bloodring by Faith Hunter. Enjoy!

Edited to add: Argh, the library doesn't have Naked. Can I ask a massive favour and request a third option?

message 99: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (cddimmitt) Thanks for the picks! I'll look at those. Let me work on a third choice for you.

message 100: by Courtney (last edited Mar 06, 2009 04:38PM) (new)

Courtney (cddimmitt) Moss, what about Midnight Sun? It's on Stephenie Meyer's website. Have you read that yet?

I'm going to read "Practical Magic." Thanks for the picks!
