Sif I really, really love the books! I finally got them all and they're one of my favorite series :) I could read them a thousand times and still not get tired of them :D

Esther Jones I didn't.

Same here!! They are great books, especially since he started writing them at the age of 15...

Exactly! That's just amazing! Besides, I've tried to find other books that has the same kind of ideas about dragons like those in "Eragon", but I haven't found any.. I really think it's uniq - his idea with the dragons and how they bond with their riders :)

Michael I enjoyed them all. Very entertaining and great world building and descriptions. Sure, it may have some flaws but what doesn't. A great series and one i'd recommend.

Eragon is probably the worst book I have ever read. Sorry guys.

Keith I found the book to be good on a first reading but overly predictable and flat when trying to read it a second time. I know the predictable part is sometimes a given but I didn't read anything new in the characters or catch hints of anything I missed in the first reading which is something that I expect to find in a good book. Take Ender's Game, all of Jim Butcher's Dresden series and you can read them multiple times and always find some small thing you missed on a first reading but not with these.

I refuse to read Ender because the author is a nutjob from what I have seen of him. Dresden is beyond awesome

There are many actors and authors that I disagree with on a political and social level but I look beyond that to the skill that they show in their given field otherwise I would be missing out on some great art. The Ender's game books are great examples of that.

In terms of literary value, these books are crap, but I found them to be highly entertaining and charming at times.

Melanie Stockton When i started reading Eragon i couldn't really get into it, but as i read more of the book, it got more interesting and now i love the whole Inheritance Cycle :)

Sparrowlicious You know, there were times when I had to laugh about the things in this book. Not because the author meant them to be entertaining, but because of the very odd word and phrase choices. Then I had moments when I flung my arms in the air because I was so baffled by how stupid the things were that happened.

All in all, this is a horrible book which shouldn't have been published the way it was. This story needed a lot of refinemend which it didn't get and that broke its neck. It's nice if you like it, but it's crap. There's nothing wrong with liking crap.

I think Sparrowlicious nailed it. I feel exactly the same way
