Angela | 17461 comments I don't see Blake as a jerk for letting Quinn take the blame. He couldn't have done anything else. It's more than just them, there's Carey's family. He couldn't have helped a lot though. Their relationship before was sort of ... off.

I agree, Gisbelle. Small town or not, it wasn't a very believable reaction.

Gisbelle | 25787 comments I liked that finally Blake decided to step out and helped Quinn. :)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Wow! All of you gave it 5 stars? That's great!

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Because it is that good, J. You read too if you have time.

I could see why when they hated Quinn's mother for cheating. I would too. She was married, for goodness sake. And she cheated her husband with his own brother. That was unforgivable. But Quinn's case was not the same. They were not married yet.

Angela | 17461 comments I understand how because Carey was a Marine, it was such a big deal that she cheated on him, but I think they made it seem so much worse than it really was.

I would personally agree, especially given the personal experiences in my town. But, then again, I didn't grow up in a military town. From what I've seen on other blogs, the author did. My guess is that Sweethaven closely parallels the town she grew up in, and maybe they have different priorities down there, especially towards those that are already "heroes" before they even leave for service? After so much loss over the years, I'm sure the they didn't take it lightly the fact that he may get himself killed because he "would be so upset."

In my town, something like this would never happen. The town would whisper for a week or two and then it would blow over. But in a tight knit military town? I can't even pretend to know what goes on in that type of society. I'm sure its different though.

Right? It was amazing. As Gisbelle said, you should definitely read it when you have some time.

I live in NY, so I can't say I get their reactions. Here, no one talks about somethink for more than a week, and most people wouldn't even know about it. Cheating isn't a big deal here, so no one actually cares who cheated on who.
