Tera recently mentioned a book on the "what did you just finish" thread that we think might be great for discussion. The book is Tell the Wolves I'm Home
Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt .

Tera said: "Shocker! I finished a book. It has been too long for me. I'm not sure what was keeping me from reading. I suppose if writers get a block readers can too right? I felt a pull to my library after hearing a lot about this book and there it was sitting right on the new release shelf so I grabbed it. That was Monday. Today is Wednesday and I loved it! Tell the Wolves I'm Home

This book is a first novel by Carol Rifka Brunt, who is a Goodreads author. The book is one of the nominees for the 2012 Goodreads Choice Awards.

If anyone would be interested in reading and discussing this book by the end of January/beginning of February, Tera would be willing to contact the author to see if she would be willing to participate in the discussion with us.

So, if anyone is intersted in this book and in joining in on a discussion in the new year, please post a comment. This might be a good use for some of those Christmas gift cards from book sites that many of us get. :o)

Great, Denise and Christine. :o)

And yes, Christine, from the reviews I read this is a tear jerker, so I think stocking up on tissues beforehand is a good idea. In Tera's review she wrote that she finished the book in tears on her couch.

Rebecca I am interested in this too.

I was able to make contact with the author Carol Rifka Brunt and she has agreed to do a Q&A with us after the book read. I'm so excited and grateful she agreed to do this for our group.

I just got it from the library. I think I'll start it very soon, since I"m almost done with what I am reading right now.

Nancy (Colorado) I have started the book and am enjoying it so far!

Rebecca I have too. This book is very well written. I am finding it kind of ominous and sad though.

Amy Neftzger (neftzger) | 240 comments I'm about 75% done - enjoying the story and feel it it very well written. However, even though it's a "coming of age" story, I can't help feeling it's written more for adults than kids.

I started reading last night. Totally sucked in.

The setting is what did it. I was a similar age in 1987 AND lived in the area the MC lives.

Sharon A. (sharona826) | 172 comments I loved this book -- it got me out of a real reading funk I got into last fall. I can't wait to discuss!

Bonnie (subwaygal) | 1 comments I just finished the book... Cried for at least an hour like a big baby. My teenagers just look at me funny and wonder what is wrong with me!!!

Marsha (earthmarsha) | 1586 comments For the first time in ages, I actually got a book from the library in time for a group read. Picked it up today and started reading immediately -- I was drawn in right away.

Angie (angiejacobs) | 3 comments I will read it too! Very interested in being part of the discussion! (A first for me!)
