good reviews and interesting story line. Glad I ll have time to buy my tissues before we start, apparently I ll need them.
Great, Denise and Christine. :o)
And yes, Christine, from the reviews I read this is a tear jerker, so I think stocking up on tissues beforehand is a good idea. In Tera's review she wrote that she finished the book in tears on her couch.

I agree, Donna! The characters stay with you for a long time!
I was able to make contact with the author Carol Rifka Brunt and she has agreed to do a Q&A with us after the book read. I'm so excited and grateful she agreed to do this for our group.

I just got it from the library. I think I'll start it very soon, since I"m almost done with what I am reading right now.

I started reading last night. Totally sucked in.
The setting is what did it. I was a similar age in 1987 AND lived in the area the MC lives.

Tera said: "Shocker! I finished a book. It has been too long for me. I'm not sure what was keeping me from reading. I suppose if writers get a block readers can too right? I felt a pull to my library after hearing a lot about this book and there it was sitting right on the new release shelf so I grabbed it. That was Monday. Today is Wednesday and I loved it! If anyone would be interested in reading and discussing this book by the end of January/beginning of February, Tera would be willing to contact the author to see if she would be willing to participate in the discussion with us.
So, if anyone is intersted in this book and in joining in on a discussion in the new year, please post a comment. This might be a good use for some of those Christmas gift cards from book sites that many of us get. :o)
