Christine (xtinela) | 12 comments Good Evening,

So I'm coming out with book 3 of a mystery series soon. There should be between 3 or 4 more books in the series.

I'd like to release a bundle, but since the series won't be finished, do you think readers would get annoyed with me?

Thanks!

Xtine

Ian (setaian) I don't think so. You can't bundle books together that haven't been written yet. I guess you could consider offering some bonus material through your website that's only available to people who buy your book individually.

Maybe a short story for each book focusing on some of the minor characters...I can't remember where I read this, but another author wrote a serious mystery and had a bonus short story which was called (can't remember the name's) Bad Day which had the main character having an absolutely awful day where everything went wrong.

Christine (xtinela) | 12 comments No I mean, I'd bundle books 1,2 and 3 (finished) but the rest of the series (books 4, 5 and 6) wouldn't be included.

Ian (setaian) Sounds to me like you're offering value for money. Will the three books stand on their own or is the 6 book series a continuing story?

I guess to my way of thinking there should be some sort of resolution at the end of book 3 which separates it from the rest of the series, just because it's a bundle.

I'm not really sure....I generally get annoyed by cliffhangers so if there's a cliffhanger I'm probably not going to be the most objective...I also tend to give up on series' that go for more than 4 books. lol I have the attention span of a gnat.

Christine (xtinela) | 12 comments I don't think there's anything wrong with a 4 book attention span.
There is more surely something wrong with ME in that I fear closure.
:)

Ian (setaian) lol, I just realized who you are...I loved Dead is the New Black. I felt smarter just reading that book.
