The regency time period was a time in England in the 1800s. A woman's sole job was basically to find a husband with a valuable income - love was totally optional. They wore fancy dresses and had many rules about what a person could and could not do. They rode in carriages everywhere or on horseback, and balls (or assemblies) were held at people's houses and included dancing and a supper.
