The Girl in the Steel Corset
question
underrated?
I thought it was alright. It seems like a pretty neutral statement and it is. I didn't react either way to this book. I suppose I liked it but it is not a book that I tell my friends to go out and buy it because they have to read it.

I thought it was ok. I didn't find anything new in it. It might be a bit different but it still felt.. generic. But I'll still read the serious because I really liked "The strange case of Finley Jayne".

Mm. It was certainly a very good read. I'm perplexed why someone would ever wish to underrate such an astounding book. Vexing, indeed...
-yea, um, what does "vexing" mean again?

I love this book so much!!!!!
This is the best YA I've ever read, i just don't get why people like TID better, sure there good, but I prefer characters(*cough*Jack*cough cough*) and plot to gore like in TID.
Griffith and Finley forever!
P.S Heather i so agree with you, the Hunger Games and Twilight suck!

I think it's a great read, and I even found it to be a great reread. But... I have a hard time feeling like something is underrated when it's so fluffy.
Don't get me wrong, it's a barrel of monkeys and I'm lending out to all my friends who like fluff but it's also not one of those books that inspires me to go out and crusade for new fans on its behalf.

LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Totally not underrated, who told you that? Have not read 2nd one, but need 2 read it
I understand this is book 1 in the Steampunk Chronicles. Book 2 is "The Girl in the Clockwork Collar" which takes place in New York. Although I know Kady, I'm ashamed to say I have yet to read book 2. I will say that I did enjoy the first one.
I thought this book was pretty awesome! Except I feel like the characters could have been a little stronger but besides that it rocked!
I loved this book! I think that mostly people haven't heard of it.... maybe if more people heard about it then more would like it. IMO
I thought it was very good. My daughter and all her friends are reading it. She is the one who gave it to me. They like more then the more "poplar" series out there. I don't think it's better then some, but certainly better then The Hunger Games or Twilight. (Hate Twilight.) Jack is fun. The charachters are well deloveped. It did annoy me that the set-up short story was ignored (and cheaper.)
I loved this book. It's one of those books I'll probably re-read and I don't do that often. :D Loved the characters. Not a one single moment in this book that was boring.
I LOVED IT!!! Omg i totally agree with this. its one of my favourite books. I love all the characters and the story-line was brilliant. So good :)
I did not like the book at all. I felt like it was a mash up of a bunch of ideas that the author loved from great books, decided to put together, and it kind off blew up in her face.
I compare it to "The Infernal Devices" in my review (http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...).
To me, it may be underrated because anyone can go out and read the great books it's practically based on and get the jist of what it's about.
It had a great concept, though. I admit that. It just fell flat to me because I know there are other writers out there who could have done the idea better justice.

Samantha The Escapist
Hmm I thought Clare's steampunk paled next to this one. Mostly because Clare wrote herself into a corner by insisting on keeping it canon with TMI. Yo

I didnt like it. It was all over the place. :/
I loved this book as well. I thought it was so creative, and I love Finley and her friends. I wish more people would know about this book, but I also think it's because there's not a huge following for steampunk books. Steampunk is lost in the mix of angels, demons, vampires, and werewolves. But, hopefully we can get the word out :)
I really enjoyed it, although some of the writing could have been more...vivid, it somehow felt as though it was missing something, but still I really enjoyed the character development of Finley's friends and can't wait to see more of Jack Dandy!
