Group Read Rules and Categories

Nomination/Group Read Categories:

- 1 Adult debut or first in a series
- 1 Young Adult debut or first in a series
-2 whatever novels Whether they’re the fifth book in the series or whatever! Can be both YA or Adult)
-2 Group series: Pick one Adult and one Young Adult series. We read one book a month until we've finished, or caught up. You can jump in at any time, so if the group is at book 7 you can start at 1 and get caught up at your own pace.

Adult debut or first in a series:
This one is basically the same and self explanatory. Members nominate and vote for a Adult debut author or first in a series read.

YA debut or first in a series:
Again self explanatory. Members nominate and vote for a YA debut author or first in a series read.

2 Whatever novels:
Members can nominate and vote for both YA and adult titles on this one. Doesn't matter where the book falls in a series or not.

Group Series:
This is the one that changes the most. Members can pick and vote in both an Adult and YA series. However, the series can not expand past 12 books. Members can jump in at anytime during the read.

At the 1st of the month when the "group email" is sent members will be asked if they want to continue the current series and vote on it. Then when it's nomination time members can nominate/vote for a new series, or we keep the same series and no voting will occur.

Second Chances:

Every month there are a ton of great books that don't quite make it by a few points, and then they never seem to come up again. Well this idea is that every so often we vote on the books that didn't make it and then read them.

Members voted and they want to do this every three months. Only books within that 3 month period qualify and only 3 books from each poll after the winners.

The months of March, July, and November will be the months Second Chances books are read.

General Rules:
1. Books that have been read as a GR can not be nominated again. The only exception to the rule is if the book is part of the Group Series read.
2. Authors are no longer allowed to nominate their books. We've had too many hit and runs. (Authors who aren't active in the group only participating to nominate there books.)
3. Keep the reads paranormal themed.
4. If the book title and the author's name are not typed out they will not make it on to the polls. (It is just too time consuming to try and do the polls hunting for the books.)

Schedule:

Nomination: Begins the 5th of the month and ends 9th. (Vote in October for November)
Poll: Begins the 9th and ends the 14th. (Vote in October for November)
Group read starts: 1st
Group read ends: to the end of the month.
