Can someone explain the difference in the way titles appear?

If one reviews this series one will see that several of the books in the series show numbers below the title listing (in black) but NOT as part of the title (in Gold) while others show them both as part of the title and below the title.

When I review the individual entries, they appear to be the same. Can someone tell me what I'm missing?

Stephen, if the name of the book includes the name of the series it belongs to, you will see it in (Gold) title. In other cases it will be black.

Sorry, but it's still unclear to me. I click on book#1 in the series and look at the detail page, then I go back and do the same for book # 5 and they look the same to me yet the list shows them differently...

Please go to the "edit details" page of those books, and check "title" box for them. You will see that for Book#1, the series name has been appended to the name of the book in "title" box. But for Book#5 this hasn't been done and hence the difference.

In book 1 the series title is also put in the title field, that is not the case for book 5.

The book page hides anything in the title field that is inside of parenthesis and shows the information from the series screen instead. The plan was for all places that show the title to work the same way, but most screens have still not been updated to show the series information.
