Jennifer (jenninrome) | 51 comments Could someone delete the translator listed for this book? The author wrote it in English. There was no translator:

Thanks,

Jennifer

Jennifer (jenninrome) | 51 comments Oh never mind. Maybe that listing was for a foreign version of the book. Sorry!

Jenny (jeoblivion) | 7 comments To be honest the entire edition is a bit messed up, neither is a kindle nor is it written in English as it says in the book profile. It is infact a German paperback (thus the translator). I'll fix it to avoid the confusion.

Jennifer (jenninrome) | 51 comments I think that it didn't get fixed. If you look up Train Dreams, the first hit you get is the one with a translation INTO German.

Lacrima_Atra | 101 comments It has been fixed. This edition is a German translation, but it bears the English title (which is not that uncommon for translations into German).

Jennifer (jenninrome) | 51 comments But why, if I look up Train Dreams on Goodreads, do I not get the standard edition (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...)?

That's because the translated version is the standard edition. Goodreads places the book that has been shelved the most times as the primary edition.

Jennifer (jenninrome) | 51 comments But it was written in English!?

Lacrima_Atra | 101 comments The original was written in English, but the German translation apparently has been shelved more often than the English original, which is why it is the primary edition and turns up, if you search by the title.
