What are some of the most outrageous Zebra romances?

Magic Embrace by Jennifer Horsman, has to be one of the most unbelievable stories I've ever read. The entire premise was pretty amazing, the writing style immaculate--but the tropes attached to the hero's superhero abilities just made me laugh hysterically. I believe I crafted a list of his buffness, in the review thread. If he hadn't been so magically omnipotent, I would have given the book more stars, but alas-- 3-star vote it was. It merely felt as though the author couldn't decide on what great traits to apply to him, so overindulge with everything.
I have that one! So wait...the hero's a pirate, an Earl, a warlock, an abolitionist and a germ hunter? And I bet he's a cunning linguist as well? Oh heroes of romance, is there nothing you men can't do?
The way you describe that hero makes him sound a bit like Renaissance hunk-of-a-man Capt Ty from Sonya T. Pelton's
. That one was so crazy in a so-bad-it's freaking hilarious kind of way. Where the author obviously realized she lacked a talent in her writing abilities so just threw every crazy plot-line imaginable into the story, not even completing most of them!

Wendy--yessss... random at Roulette hero! And it was all told to you, too. Like, nothing truly validated about his past, just a globetrotter, been-there-seen-it-all mentality. I also felt as if his personality morphed, too -- along the way. He was hardly the dark hero from the beginning, and it wasn't due to heartstring tugging, either. He was just a rubix cube of traits, that I never felt as though he had much of an identity. lol He was the most amazing BR villain/hero in the beginning... I was so focused on the first few chapters.
LOL, I want to read that one now. Horsman started out with this incredible storyline, but fizzled out as soon as the heroine was captured. She had a great writing skill, too. I may give her other novels a chance in the future, but Crimson Obsession sort of followed the scheme that, "oh..hmm, isolated area... oh, I know - let's start a fight!" to compensate for character development and whatnot. It always happens around ships, too. She should stray clear of those. lol For instance - the heroine from Crimson Obsession had already slept/enjoyed her time with the hero, but - for some reason, her passive aggressive rebellion stomped her away into the forest, where she climbed a tree and refused to come down, until the hero left her alone. ...Right. LOL

Yeah, so many books (especially the 400+ reads) start out with a bang, but then lose it half way. It's frustrating! I even started a shelf with that theme (and its opposite: bad beginnings, good endings, which is much rarer).

I just finished Crimson Obsession, silly! Do you mean Magic Embrace? ;-) That sounds awful. Did she hold her breath until she turned blue, as well? I hate that in a heroine: when she stomps her feet like a toddler and throws figurines at the hero. That kind of behavior’s cute in my cat. When she makes a big fuss and hisses over the slightest thing, we just laugh at her until she gets so self-conscious that it’s endearing, but in an adult woman who’s supposed to be in a mature sexual relationship, just…no. Grow up!

I am so sorry, I meant Crimson Rapture, Lol, too many blasted color wheel references! I know Magic Embrace started out sensationally, I truly felt as though the hero would all out kill the heroine. She didn't feel safe, or 'rescued'.
And with Crimson Rapture, the hero himself, is the first to whisper sweet nothings/marriage and/or lovey dovey to the heroine, and for some reason, I prefer a hero to wait it out to the last chapter. XD It feels to premature, if the entire premise of the book is revealed early on. What does she have to work towards, if he's already feeling domesticated? LOL

You know, the ones which make you think how did the author come up with that?!
