Why do people do this to one another?

Why do people have to relentlessly, verbally, attack on another? How is it necessary for society, for us to indirectly kill someone?
Me and my friends the other day found a letter on the ground about how someone wanted to kill themselves because of how terrible their life was and still is. It was in the form of a poem telling what had happened to this person and what they were going to do. It was the scariest thing we had ever read. We decided to give it into the Student Office so that the counselors and teachers could maybe do something to help this person. It truly makes me depressed and angry at the people who would do such cruel things to others. I really feel horrible now that someone may end their life because of another being. STOP BULLYING AND OTHERS THINGS YOU MEANIES!
