Barend I loved the movie, everyone I know who watched it said it was great...I just Started the Fall of Five (the fourth book) this is an amazing series, and I think that they could have corrected a few mistakes that they made in the first one. I'm sad because it had so much potential...And I love this series it's amazing. Would have loved to see it surpass Twilight!

THANK YOU FOR NOT BEING BIASED ABOUT IT!!!! And I agree.

Exactly, thats what i said!

Erika Pott i already know there is going to be another movie-they already have some of the cast

message 55: by Sam (new)

Sam Ziomek The Harry potter books are all movies, same with the hunger games, Percy Jackson, and the twilight series are all movies so the I am number four books should all be movies

Quincy Erika wrote: "i already know there is going to be another movie-they already have some of the cast"

Miahz Like everyone else, I read the book right after i watched the movie. Now I look at the movie in disappointment because they pretty much twisted key parts of the story that lay down the outline later on in the series. The problem was that they made the movie when only one book was out. Without knowing the direction the book was heading they thought they could simplify the story. For example, One of John's key legacy is fire. He basically uses it to overcome his enemies. Instead they only focus on his lumen and give Number six his ability?!?! Number Six has the power of invisibility. Then in the movie they gave her teleportion even though later on in Book 3 we find out that Number 8 has the legacy to teleport. They screwed up when they mixed the legacies around because their legacy wasn't just their power, it defined who they were as a character. That is why they will not continue in my opinion. So if they did attempt in another movie it would basically have a WHOLE new story that is just INSPIRED by the books and not based off of them. Or they just wait 30 years from now and when they think a new generation should know this story, they will remake it and do it justice(when you remake a flop it should be GREAT)lol just like all these other director/writers that run out of ideas so they remake movies instead of being innovative. but yeah the books are awesome. Ive read them all so far, including the missing file series. Can't wait until the next one comes out next summer.

Lily I really enjoy the books and the movie was ok, but not what I had hoped for. In my opinion, I would like to see a reboot, even though the movie isn't that old, but cast better actors and keep the movie closer to the book. Then maybe if the reboot is successful, do a sequel. This is what I found online. I've never seen this website before today,so I'm not 100% sure about it's truthfulness. But if you would like to check it out:

Neha Yeah i read the same hing in another site. This happened about an year ago

Kathryn "A book is a thoughtful experience whilst a film is a visual experience"
Lets compare this to some other film/book series......
Percy Jackson: Fans got so mad about the adaptation that there is now an online petition to get a cartoon remake of the series after the films gave a 'based on the series' a run for their money. They even missed out Pan. I know I've given up saying the book and the film are the same story.
Eragon: Put simply is a series of books where the director took his favourite parts from the series to create a film.
Really, our fandom is lucky to even get a film like what we got and making another film is highly unlikely. If the film didnt do as well as it needed to in the box office, they probably wont make another for a while. Ontop of this, I found that the film was adjusted to get masses of explosion and action in as they could; they were trying to appeal to their target audience. Do you really want them to make another film if they do that instead of trying to please the fans?.

message 62: by Sam (new)

Sam Ziomek Okay who ever said that Pitticus Lore is horrible writer and the I am number four book was like an eight year old wrote it go die you bitch Pitticus Lore is a great author and the I am number four books are amazing as hell

message 63: by Sam (new)

Sam Ziomek I agree with Mainz they did mixup the legacies they should have just gave them the legacies they had in the book like they gave six John's immune to fire legacy and only gave him lumen and telekinesis and they gave six teleportation but that is one of eights legacies and they did not give six her weather controlling legacy which is very upsetting but besides that the movie was basically the same except for six entrance and the manure in the locker and I am number four is one of my fav movies and book series

Kendall Haynes I don't think the first movie was a flop. So they mixed up something's like powers and hair color, but overall, it was great. I really hope The Power of Six is planned soon. The director said in August that there has been some talk,

message 65: by Sam (new)

message 66: by Michael (new)

Michael Mcbride I don't understand what you're calling a "big flop" or not a success. According to boxofficemojo.com, "I Am Number Four" cost $60 million to make but made $55,100,437 in the U.S and had foreign revenues of $94,778,000. With a total of $149,878,437 Million worldwide. How can a profit of almost $90 million dollars be called a flop?

By flop, I meant failure. Obviously they failed if there is no sequel. yes flop means when they have negative profit but their tactic was to appeal as much as possible to get an audience. They might have attracted the audience to come watch but it doesn't mean they satisfied viewers. Like I said, they had the return profit but they aren't continuing the series, why? because they went off on the story line and they will have to change the whole story. They could reap the profits from these series because its going to be a long book series. But instead they tried it their own way. 2 and 1/2 years later since the movie and the book sequel came out. If it wasnt a failure then they would've been in production by now.

We don't know for certain, but its pretty safe to say that John inherited Pitticus powers. And my guess is that the his fire ability is the most important one which distinctively sets him as a leader. Fire that portrays the last life of his home planet burning within him, is now number 6 ability. Also Number 6 background was centered around invisibility. Her ability to escape the underground prison. Number 8 who is the real teleporter is now going to have either invisibility or some other legacy. You have to understand that their legacy make their personality. They messed up big time. That's like giving Ron Weasley a scar on his forehead.

EmilyViolet I thought the I Am Number Four movie was great. I watched the movie and then read the series and I loved all of it. I've shown the movie to like all of my friends and they all loved it too. I honestly don't get why the movie flopped and am annoyed that they are therefore not making a sequel. :(

Amen - I really hope they do the books justice. The 2nd Percy Jackson I thought was quite bad, personally liked the first one though.

it wasn't a flop. they made 130 million dollars with it and had a 50 million dollar budget.
I can see no reason why there shouldn't be a sequel to it.

message 85: by Otis (new)

Otis I don't know if any of you even read the book that I read. The movie was friggin' identical. I mean they followed everything accept for a few minor details like him being fire proof and being able to talk to animals. Big friggin' woop. They adapted it the way that it would show best on the screen. Movie and books can not be delivered the same way DUHHH. There was some acting that wasn't that great but they got the job done. That movie rocked it pretty hard and it deserves a sequel. The fans deserve another movie. So open your eyes people, move adaptations for books are never EXACTLY the same.

message 86: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 09, 2014 04:32AM) (new)

I liked the movie, and the books, despite the plotlines varying away from each other a bit. It would be great to see the rest of the series adapted, even if it required re-shooting the first film. Fantasy fiction is great when you see it come to life. James Frey and Jobie Hughes, aka Pittacus Lore, did a great job with this series and continue to do so. They are modern day Orson Welles in the style of his 'War of the Worlds' broadcast.

(In the movie version) You know that scene where, Bernie Kosar or Hadley, Number Four's chimaera, shape shifts, steps in to defend Number Four from the Piken and there's a brief moment when there is eye contact between BK/Hadley and Number Four? Well, I reads that this scene was supposed to be one of the representations of them communicating (Number Four's ability to talk to animals)but it didn't translate well to audiences.
Even with the variation of the book plot, I thought the movie was good, which brought one of my favorite characters to screen life, Number Six. It's ashame that the adaption didn't meet enough mass approval needed to continue adapting the series, but I have the 'The Hunger Games' trilogy features to pacify me.

You never know, some film company may succumb to the mass fan pressure, and film the entire series (including taking another crack at adapting 'I Am Number Four') - here's hoping for wishes or at least driven protests to come true.

Well, I don't know if you read the rest of the books, but John being fireproof isn't a minor detail. And really "Movies and books cannot be delivered the same way"? lol Tell that to Peter Jackson, who won 17 oscars for one movie trilogy.

message 90: by Ven (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ven I want this to have a movie! I want to see if there'll be an improvement because the first one was ugh! It was sooo far from the book.

Fatin Syuhada i started reading the book only after i watched the movie. The movie itself is not horrible but i agree that it lacks in many ways. if there will be other movies from Lorien Legacies (i hope so), i hope they come from good production team so that the movies will deliver the books' philosophy and contents nicely. and so that people will understand why the series has so many fans.

message 92: by Cb89 (new) - added it

Cb89 the first movie did not suck at all, I really hope they do a sequel.

Destiny Peterson I personally thought that the movie was great. I don't know if that's just because I'm obsessed with the series or not, but I'm guessing they didn't make a second movie because the first one didn't do well. Though I really wish that they'd make a second one.

message 94: by Tiffany-ann (new)

Tiffany-ann Lopez i dont understand how people could say how horrible it is...it's not as bad as what i thought it would be...yes i agree it doesnt follow the book as much as it should and they added a lot of details they should but thats what they did...
i for one think they should make all six books into a movie...ive read all the book available and they are all equally good...but i think if they do they should keep more to the story line

Dangerscoming Onur wrote: "Courtney wrote: "The first movie was absolutely terrible. Without a doubt, one of the worst book to movie adaptations I have ever seen. That being said, I don't think they wanted to epically embarr..."

I thought the Percy Jackson movie adaptation was better than expected. I mean the lighting thief was crap, but when I watched the sea of monsters... it had defiantly gone better. the one movie adaptation I really hated and I thought was a waste of time was "the mortal instruments: city of bones" that movie was so bad and rushed. I fell that big books with heavy pot and a lot of characters each having unique characteristics, if they were to be adapted to a motion picture, should be done in a 2-3 part movie series or a long movie. Yes I know that its hard and costly but at least most book fans wont hate the adaptation.

Hayley probably because they almost changed the entire book in the first movie

message 97: by Carlitos (new)

Carlitos The movie was okay compared to the book. The thing that got me most was how short a time frame the movie played out in. I read the book after watching the movie and realized all the things wrong in the movie. It kind of sucks that there probably won't be a Power of Six movie, but I feel like if they wait a while longer, they could fix some of those mistakes...

message 98: by Destiny (new) - added it

Destiny I am actually very disappointed by this. I loved I Am Number Four, unlike most people... I don't think it sucked at all. It kept my attention, and it was very interesting. Plus, a lot of action. I would be thrilled if they made The Power of Six into a movie as well. Hopefully they decide to in the future.

Samantha They should remake the I am Number Four movie or just put it out in theaters again. Personally, I think they should remake it because they gave Six Lumen in the movie but anyways, I think it would gain more popularity.

message 100: by Mariana (new)

Mariana Garza I think it was a stupid mistake of them to not make THE POWER OF SIX, because look how many of us loved I AM NUMBER FOUR… I want to know who is five, seven(Marina), eight, nine, Ella and Cryton. Well at least for now who is seven, eight, nine, Ella and Cryton because five doesn`t appear in that book, he appears until THE FALL OF FIVE. :)
