This book was very good. It was probably the best book I have ever read. In it, a man named Bill Hickok is an amazing cowboy that is very dangerous. He is feared by everyone and does pretty much whatever he wants. When a train goes through the town he is in, containing the brand new invention called the refrigerator, he is asked to act as its body guard. In addition, there are two other well respected cowboys on the lose in the train that are paid to kill and steal the invention at any cost. As the train crosses the country the two sides have many interactions that don't end well, and at the end when the train is attacked by a tribe of Sioux Indians, Wild Bills lover is stolen. He then has to go steal her back in exchange for some ice. However, on the way back to the train area Bill meets up with one of the well known cowboys out to get him and has to battle for his life. It is very brutal and both men almost die. Finally, after about ten minutes of being whipped to death, Bill steals the whip and chokes the other man. After this, he returns to the train and the "ice convoy" continues. Wild Bill and Elena (the stolen girl) fall in love, and the man who paid the men to steal is left with failure and jealousy. I thought this book was very good and i would rate it 4 out of 5. It had a decent ending and the whole story line was phenomenal. Throughout the book, I don't think I got bored once. I have watched many westerns in my day so I related to this book very well.
