Amanda Moseley | 3 comments MockingJay is the third book too the Hunger Games Trilogy. It is set in a time after our generations have passed. Far into the future, the world fights a war that uses nuclear bombs which almost destroy the population. The small group of humans still alive after the bombings live in a country called Panem. Panem consists of 13 districts and a capitol. The capitol is in charge and the districts make everything for them from clothing to food. The story is told from the point of view of a teenage girl named Katniss Everdeen.
Katniss Everdeen is the face of what is called a rebellion. The districts have been trying for years to find a balance of power and the third book starts out with them attempting to find their independence. Katniss, residing in district 13, with the leaders of the new government, come up with a plan to get all the districts on their side. Leading uprisings all over the districts and gaining control of all, until they can finally infatrate the capitol grounds. They use Katniss as symbol of rebellion considering in her last Hunger Games she tricked the gamemakers, which allowed her and Peeta to live when only one victor was allowed out of the arena. The book is about the districts fighting for their independence from the capitol in a series of twists and turns that keeps you interested throughout the entire book.
I absolutely loved this book. I would read it over and over again! It was very descriptive and intriguing and i recommend it too all teenagers and adults. It consisted of non stop action, a growing love story, and humans in the pursuit of happiness. It shows how if you work together with others, towards a common cause, you will achieve. I think their are a lot of good life lessons in the book. Even though the book is in a future setting it shows that humans will never change their warrior mindset. That they will always fight when they are mistreated.
