I have one Trixie Belden book, but I haven't read it yet (I think it's book 7 or so). It sounds pretty cool! But right now I'm focusing on reading Nancy, but I will definitely read Trixie sometime!

Hi, everyone! Ha ha! :-) I took a break from the internet for a while but now I'm back. :-)

Sereina, the new Nancy Drew books are pretty good but the classics are the best ones! :-) It's so cool that you've read most of them!

message 211: by Megan (new)

Megan (megbookworm6) | 11 comments My favorite classic Nancy Drew book is the "Lavender Inn" one... I can't quite remember the title, could anyone enlighten me? I believe it was the 4th one in the series?

message 212: by Sereina (last edited Apr 22, 2010 03:46PM) (new)

Sereina (sereinaelwert) The Mystery of Lilac Inn. And yes, it is the 4th book. It's one of my favorites too!

Anika: read it! u wont regret it.

Anika Lol! I will! :)

message 219: by Dee (new)

Dee | 1 comments I think I prefer the old Nancy Drew. Chief McGinnis seemed to be mean to Nancy in the new one, but maybe he was just mean in that one book. I haven't really read the new ones, so I'm not going to judge it for that one little thing.

So far I like the old ones more than the new ones, although the new ones are fun to read, too. I'm in the process of reading all the old books but I haven't read them recently, because I've been reading other books!

Joy (Cheery♡Reads) (cheerybell) | 3 comments I've always loved the yellow hardcover ones. They are the predecessors to the new ones. But I do enjoy the new ones as well.

I agree, Joy and Kyrn! Have any of you been reading any Nancy Drew books recently? I haven't read any in a while. I'm hoping to read one sometime soon!

Joy (Cheery♡Reads) (cheerybell) | 3 comments Nope, Charmaine. I haven't been reading Nancy Drew for quite some time already as it's kind of hard to get hold of them. They seemed kind of going into extinction. But I can find then in second hand bookstores. They have quite a collection there. On the other hand, I'm currently in YA-Paranormal mode. I have a long list of to-reads.

message 226: by кєяo (new)

кєяo (echoinggreen) I'm currently reading "Dangerous Games: A Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys Super Mystery". Dangerous Games (A Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Super Mystery, #4) by Carolyn Keene

Ooh do you like that book, Kyrn? Sounds like a good title!

Joy, I know what you mean about Nancy Drew books going into extinction. In my local library they don't have as many Nancy Drew books as they used to. :-( But I do see some in the second hand bookstores like what you said.

I'm currently reading other books and I do have a long to-read list, too. I hope to read some more Nancy Drew books sometime, especially when I get a break from school, because I miss reading them.

Yes I like it. Dangerous Games (A Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Super Mystery, #4) by Carolyn Keene
It's an awesome mystery.

кєяo (echoinggreen) The story of Dangerous Games (A Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Super Mystery, #4) is about International Championship Games which are going to held in California. Two Norwegian athletes (brother and sister) who are top contenders to win in their respective disciplines are continuously threatened by a mysterious person. Nancy and the Hardys work together to unmask that man. However, during the course of investigation a misunderstanding arises between Ned and Nancy (because of Frank Hardy). In other words, there's a bit of triangle between Ned, Nancy, and Frank. The mystery was really super. The other characters were great, especially the athlete ones. The plot was interesting and full of suspense.

I've always wanted to read the super mystery collection but never had the chance to. I think I will try to find some in Book Depository.

I haven't read the Super Mysteries, either! Hopefully you and I will get to read them sometime, Joy.

Kyrn, thanks for letting me know what that book is about - sounds cool! Especially that the Hardy Boys are in the story. :-)

When I have a winter break from school, I will definitely read some Nancy Drew books!

message 243: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee (ashlee_) | 43 comments Hey everyone. Just wanted to add my own two cents here! I started reading Nancy Drew when I was 9 or so. My mom grew up with the series and got me addicted! I still have some of her copies from the 70's on my bookshelf. I personally enjoy the original Mystery Stories, but I live in a small town and when I was younger it was hard to find them here, so I started getting some from the library. After I read the mystery stories they had at the library though, I did give the Nancy Drew Files a chance and they were pretty good too! I'm on a hunt for the 56 (or 57?) original mystery stories to read all over again because I loved them so much as a kid! I also want to start reading them with my daughter. I'm so glad I found a Nancy Drew group, I love Nancy and I'm glad I have a group to share my love of the series with!!

message 244: by Shayleigh (new)

Shayleigh (shelsi) | 28 comments I love ALL of the Nancy Drew books that I've read. Sure, I like some better than others but they're still good. I've read most of the original series (1-56)and a few of the later Nancy Drew Series books(57-175). I've also read a few Nancy Drew Girl Detectives and only 1 of the Nancy Drew Files. They do have different styles but they still feature Nancy so what's not to like? xD
