It's worth comparing Julie's book with other autobiographies, not least some from the area where she was brought up. Try "Lone Wolf: memoirs in the form of short stories" by Len Webster (The Kates Hill Press, 2012)

I read her book about a year ago. pretty decent read. she did NOT write a tell all. just talked about her child hood and some of the movies she has filmed. I wish she had talked more about some of the movies she was in though. Not in a "tell all" way just would have liked to know more of her experiences. I really liked in her Educating Rita, Stepping out, and Billy Elliot. a good book if you like the actress.

I am 60 so much of the period detail Julie writes I can relate to. I really enjoyed her book. All the books I read I give 5 stars because if I am not enjoying a book I don't read it.
